Cash Game in the Corner

While we were at dinner, the high stakes cash game got underway in the far corner of the tournament room. The minimum buy-in for the game is HK$1,000,000, which is roughly US$130,000. Players currently seated at the table include Steve Sung, J.C. Tran, Todd Brunson and John Juanda.

Juanda recently doubled up at the expense of APT CEO Chris Parker. On a board of {Q-Spades}

, Parker and Juanda got it all in the middle. Parker had the better hand with {K-Spades}

but was in a virtual coin flip against Juanda's {Q-Hearts}

. The

promptly hit the turn, and Parker couldn't find one of the remaining kings to overtake Juanda's trip queens.
