Vengrin Flushes Simon Morris Out

Simon Morris has been eliminated after Matt Vengrin caught a flush on the river to send him to the rail.

Morris got all of his chips in good on a flop of {8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{j-Diamonds} holding {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}, but Vengrin's {10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} still had flush prospects.

Morris was almost there after the turn blanked the {k-Spades}, but the river spiked the {a-Diamonds} enough to eliminate him from today's event.

Vengrin is up to 19,400.

Demetriou Collects One

Abel Cabrera, Andrew Demetriou and Bruno Portaro each committed 1,200 preflop to see a flop of {K-Hearts}{8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}.

Demetriou checked to Portaro who bet 300. Cabrera folded and Demetriou made the call. The turn was the {6-Hearts} and Demetriou this time led for 600 with Portaro the caller. The river landed the {3-Hearts} and Demetriou fired again with Portaro giving up the fight and letting his hand go as Demetriou collects a nice pot before the break.

Jamie Pickering Out

Jamie Pickering eliminated
Jamie Pickering has been eliminated from this event at the hands of Gary Benson.

Pickering moved the last of his chips into the middle on the turn with the board reading {k-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. Pickering had {9-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a flush, but Benson's flush was bigger holding {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}.

Pickering still had a single out in the deck if he could find the {j-Hearts} on the river, which would have made him a straight flush, but the {8-Diamonds} that came out would see him hit the rail.

Emad Tahtouh Doubles Up

Emad doubles through
Emad doubles through
Emad Tahtouh has been given new life in today's event courtesy of doubling up through Bruno Portaro.

Things looked shaky for Tahtouh holding {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} after he moved his money in behind against Portaro's {10-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} on a {3-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop.

He wouldn't fret over his tournament life long though, because the {q-Diamonds} arrived on the turn to breath new life into him. Portaro wasn't able to redraw on the river {3-Spades} and Tahtouh safely doubled through to 3,700.

Obst Rebounds

James Obst is up to 9,800 after raising preflop and firing bets on every street on a board of {Q-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. His opponent called him down but Obst tabled {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for the ace-high flush to rake in the chips.

Obst has an incredible online tournament record but is still striving for his first live tournament cash result. Perhaps today is his day, as he is now up to 9,800.

Judah Rivers Vengrin, Eliminates Boxell

Leo Boxell heading off to the rail after being eliminated by Judah
A super short-stacked Leo Boxell moved the last of his chips into the middle preflop holding {j-Spades}{10-Hearts}. With both Mel Judah and Matt Vengrin getting active on the flop of {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts} Boxell knew his tournament was very close to over.

Vengrin holding {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades} led the flop, with Judah making the call holding {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}. Both players checked the turn {6-Spades}. The river {a-Diamonds} got Judah home and Vengrin seemingly suspected as much, simply check calling Judah's 800 bet.

Judah shipped the pot to take him up to 18,400. Vengrin took a slight hit to 14,000, and Leo Boxell's tournament was over, being eliminated around 70th.
