Alexander Kostritsyn has been forced to do two double rebuys back-to-back at the hands of Neil Channing.
In the first hand, it was Channing's holding against Kostritsyn's . After doing a double rebuy for AUD$2,000 Kostritsyn moved all in under the gun and Channing made the call.
Again Channing tabled and Kostritsyn looked in bad shape holding . Channing hit a set on a board reading and stated, "I haven't hit a set since last year!" as he raked in the pot sending him to 13,000 as Kostritsyn was forced to rebuy again.
Over on Table 32, a three-way all-in saw Mick Guttman emerge victorious holding against Ben Delaney's and Jonathan Karamalikis' .
Delaney commented before the community cards came out, "I'm in such good shape, how can I lose this? This is such a beat if I lose!" Unfortunately for Delaney, the board ran out as Guttman's ace high took it down.
Guttman is sitting with about 6,000 while Delaney slips to 2,000. Jonathan Karamalikis is starting over after taking the option to rebuy.
The secondary feature table features some of the biggest names in Australian poker. Kent Hunter, Jim Sachinidis, Minh Nguyen, Sam Youssef, Rayan Nathan and Julian Powell.
Powell recently took a nice pot of Nathan after flat-calling Nathan's bet on a flop of . After Nathan checked the turn of the Powell bet enough to put Nathan all in for his last 4,000. Nathan sat in the tank for over a minute before folding.
As Powell raked in the pot sending him close to 10,000 he flashed and mucked. With all the great players on this table, it will however be the first to break.
Bruno Portaro has just wandered over to the PokerNews desk to chat with our reporters, "I tilted our table on that last hand. It went all in, all in, all in, and so I called with ace-queen . . . They tabled eights, ace-king and ace-king . . . BANG queen on the board and I won!"
Portaro is loving the rebuy madness and now sits with 10,000 in chips.
Level 2 has just ended as players are going on a 20-minutes break. The rebuy period is coming to an end as players have the option of a single or double add-on, AU$1,000 for 1,500 chips or AU$2,000 for 3,000 chips, regardless of their stack size.
