From Couple to Tablemates

The first tournament table has just been broken, and as a consequence Liya Gerasimova has been moved to the right of boyfriend Ivan Demidov.

Gerasimova recently final-tabled the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure High Roller Event in fourth place, and if she and Demidov are looking to replicate their recent form they will have some work to do, as they both are sitting on around 5,000 chips.

Sam Youssef has been sent to the rail. Youssef loves to gamble but today just wasn't his day. The chips went all in on the turn with the board reading {K-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}.

Youssef held {A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for straight and flush draws but Scott Stewart showed {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for a flopped set. The river bricked {4-Hearts} and Youssef was eliminated.

Lisandro Eliminated

A short-stacked Jeff Lisandro has just been eliminated in a three-way pot against {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds} to his {8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}, all-in on a flop of {k-Spades}{6-Clubs}{7-Spades}.

Lisandro would miss his up-and-down, when the turn came the {2-Clubs} and river the {4-Hearts}.

Player Profile: Kelly Kim

Kelly Kim
Kelly Kim
Kelly "KK" Kim is making his Aussie Millions debut today. The eighth-place finisher at the World Series of Poker Main Event certainly made a lasting impression. Nursing a short stack for much of the final two tables, Kim's tight play landed him a $1,288,217 payday.

Since that November Nine final table, Kim has been spotted at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure and hopes to have continued success.

Before play began today, Kim told PokerNews that he is excited to be here and plans to play a few events before capping it off with the Main Event.

He is currently sitting with a stack of 7,800.

Kostritsyn Running Good

Alexander Kostritsyn
Alexander Kostritsyn
Alexander Kostritsyn has found a fortunate double-up. After a series of raises, Kostritsyn snap-called the all-in bet with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} but he'd run into his opponent's {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}.

The board ran out {7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{J-Clubs} and Kostritsyn spiked a four-card flush on board to stay alive. He's up to 8,000 chips.

Delaney Dents Pickering

Ben Delaney raised to 250 under the gun and was called by Jamie Pickering in the big blind. The flop came {8-Hearts} {7-Clubs} {10-Spades} and Pickering led out for 600, which Delaney called.

The {4-Clubs} hit the turn and again Pickering bet, this time 1,500. Delaney called and the {Q-Clubs} fell on the river. Pickering check-called a bet of 1,600 from Delaney, but mucked his hand when he saw Delaney table {6-Hearts} {5-Hearts} for the straight.

Delaney upped his chip count to 13,000 while Pickering slips to 2,300.

A Timely River

Mike "Timex" McDonald
Mike "Timex" McDonald
Michael McDonald has sent Michael Russell to the rail in sensational circumstances. The board read {8-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} when the chips went into the middle. McDonald tabled {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades} for the overpair but Russell had flopped a set with his {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}.

Needing one of the two remaining queens in the deck, the {Q-Diamonds} landed on the river like a dagger through the heart of Russell as "Timex" climbs up to 16,000 chips.
