Bling, Blang, BLATT

Luke McLean has recently joined the rail, courtesy of Dean Blatt.

McLean opened the pot with a raise from middle position and was called by both Blatt and Saint Youngblood (big blind).

The flop came {J-Clubs}{2-Spades}{6-Spades} and Youngblood checked, McLean bet, Blatt raised, Youngblood folded, McLean reraised all-in and Blatt called:

McLean: {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Blatt: {K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}

The rest of the board filled out {4-Hearts}, {K-Spades} giving Blatt two pair, sending McLean to the rail.

Bounty Offered, Bounty Claimed; Benson Eliminated

Gary Benson
Gary Benson
An unidentified person approached Gary Benson's table and put a bounty on his head. Benson was only sitting with 2,000 in chips at the time, but that didn't seem to matter to the money putter-upper.

"Drinks, food... whatever knocks him out!" the man announced.

Michael Dix took him up on the offer.

Benson opened with a raise from under-the-gun in what was his final hand. Action then folded around to Dix in the small blind who three-bet, and Benson called off his last 400 in chips:

Benson: {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Dix: {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

The ensuing board ran out {5-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{J-Spades}{J-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} giving Dix two pair to knock Benson out of the tournament.

After the hand, Dix joked that it was the "free dinner" he was after.

Kelly, Youngblood Eliminated

After losing most of his chips to Kerry Stead, Aidan Kelly moved the last of his stack into the middle holding {a-?}{10-?} and was called down by Barny Boatman who tabled {a-?}{q-?}. The board improved neither hand, sending Kelly to the rail.

Saint Youngblood has also been sent packing; on a board that read {3-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{4-?}{a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, Youngblood moved all in. Steven Krmpotic called and the hands were revealed:

Krmpotic: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Youngblood: {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

Krmpotic's pair was good and Youngblood was eliminated. Krmpotic is up to 30,000.

Vanderfluit, Kolk Eliminated

Vincent Vanderfluit and Marek Kolk had both been at the wrong end of a big pot against David Steicke; as a result they have both been eliminated in the space of a few hands.

Vanderfluit was the first to after reraising all in over David Zhao's raise preflop. Zhao called with {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}, well ahead of Vanderfluit's {k-Spades}{9-Spades}.

The board was spread {a-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and Zhao's pair was good to send him packing.

Kolk joined him a few hands later, moving the last of his money into the middle on a board that read {5-?}{5-?}{3-?}{5-?}{6-?} holding {q-?}{3-?}, but Rob Crifo had him beat, tabling pocket nines.

Welcome to Chopsville, Population Two

It's been a case of "sharing is caring" between Amit Sheth and Josh Wilson, with the players chopping the pot in back-to-back hands.

Sheth bet and Wilson called all the way down the board of {10-Hearts}{a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts}; Wilson rolled up {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for trip aces but Sheth showed {a-Hearts}{2-Spades} to claim his half.

In the very next hand, they went at it heads-up across a board of {3-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{2-Spades}. Sheth showed {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and Wilson tabled {a-Spades}{10-Clubs} - both played the board, both got an equal share!

Sheth is on 63,000 in chips while Wilson is on 36,000.

Blatt Blazing

In a three-way pot that was capped before the {Q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{Q-Spades} flop, Dean Blatt led out with a bet that was called by both Steve Krmpotic and William Skountzos.

The {4-Diamonds} fell on the turn and repeat action followed; a bet from Blatt and calls by both Krmpotic and Skountzos.

The last card off the deck was the {9-Hearts} and another bet, call, call sequence prompted a showdown at which point Blatt tabled the winning hand -- pocket aces.

Stack sizes after the hand were as follows:

Blatt - 30,000
Skountzos - 3,000
Krmpotic - 21,000

Birman Busto, Adieu Pugh

Stead: runs good!
Stead: runs good!
Kerry Stead has just eliminated Paul Birman and Michael Pugh simultaneously to move up to 19,000 in chips.

Birman raised all-in blind from under the gun for 1,800 and the action folded around to Stead who reraised from the cutoff. Pugh four-bet it from the cutoff and Stead called to go heads-up with Pugh into a sidepot on a flop of {3-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{6-Clubs}.

Kerry check-raised after Pugh opened; Pugh called then moved all in after Kerry led out on the turn of the {7-Spades}.

Stead called, rolling up {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds} for a flopped set of sixes, well ahead of the {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts} of Pugh. Birman turned up his hand and showed {k-Spades}{6-Hearts}.

The river was a useless {3-Hearts} and Stead's hand was good to take the pot down and both players out.

Skountzos Eliminated

Skountzos: eliminated
Skountzos: eliminated
William Skountzos has just been sent to the rail after getting the last of it into the middle with {k-Spades}{10-Diamonds} but was dominated by Ciaran Carter's {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}.

The board ran out {j-Hearts}{5-Spades}{5-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} - thus endeth the tournament life of Skountzos.

Boatman Sunk

Bye bye Boatman
Bye bye Boatman
The action is moving at a frenetic pace in the Crown Poker Room and through it all we've just seen the elimination of Hendon Mobster Barny Boatman.

Amith Sheth raised from middle position preflop, Jan Suchanek called from the cutoff and Josh Wilson also called from the button before Boatman raise from the small blind. Suchanek and Wilson called, going three ways into a flop that read {5-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{4-Spades}.

Boatman led out, Sheth raised, Suchanek reraised and Wilson folded before Boatman four-bet it. Sheth let his hand go, Suchanek called and it was heads-up to the turn of the {j-Diamonds}.

Boatman got the rest of his money in the middle; Suchanek snap-called.

Boatman: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Suchanek: {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

Needing any ace, the river {7-Spades} completed the board and Boatman's chances of winning this title sailed away.

Suchanek is now on 56,000 in chips.
