Simon Morris - Winner of Event 2: $1,150 Limit Hold'em
Short days are good days, and this was most certainly was a short day.

Once things got three handed the modest Simon Morris "ran well" in his own words, as he steam rolled his opponents.

Morris didn't lose a big pot heads up, and lost very few of the minor ones as well, as he overcame a start of heads up deficit to take down the crown.

Morris will earn $25,650 AUD for his win over the 90 player field. He also pockets a coveted Aussie Millions championship ring, something that he will be able to look on with pride in years to come.

Congratulations Simon Morris!

Thanks for joining us and stay locked to the PokerNews coverage everyday from the Aussie Millions right through till the end of January.

Steve Krmpotic Eliminated in 2nd Place ($18,000 AUD)

It's all over here, after a lightning final table.

On the last hand Simon Morris raised from the button and Steve Krmpotic three-bet him. Morris came back over the top and Krmpotic put the last of his chips in.

Steve Krmpotic: {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Simon Morris: {k-Clubs}{j-Spades}

The {j-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop would give Morris one hand on the championship ring, and he wouldn't relinquish that grip, with the turn {7-Hearts} and river {9-Hearts} blanking off.

Steve Krmpotic will have to console himself with $18,000 AUD, we're sure he won't be too torn up.

Morris on a Rush

Two more pots have gone the way of Simon Morris, who is looking the better of the two heads up combatants.

In the first Morris opened the button to 16,000 with Krmpotic making the call.

On the {6-Spades}{7-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop Morris fired out a bet, which Krmpotic called.

They then both checked down the {2-Diamonds} turn and {10-Clubs} river with Morris showing down {k-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}, apparently enough to take the hand.

Morris continued the one way traffic a short time later as he opened the button to 20,000 with Krmpotic calling.

The flop came {6-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and Krmpotic check-called a 10,000 chip bet. The {8-Hearts} hit the turn and the {2-Spades} hit the river with Krmpotic check-calling both streets.

Morris showed {10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} for a flopped two pair and now has 267,000 chips in front of him.

This time Krmpotic check-called a bet from Morris. The river was the {4-Clubs} and Krmpotic once again check-called before he mucked his hand against Morris' {k-Spades}{j-Spades}.

Preflop, Suchanek opened to 16,000 from the small blind with Steve Krmpotic calling form the big blind.

The flop was {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} with Suchanek leading 8,000. Krmpotic smooth called and the {8-Clubs} hit the turn.

This time it was all out war, with Suchanek leading 16,000, Krmpotic coming back over the top to 32,000 and Suchanek playing back for 48,000. Krmpotic made the call and the last of Suchanek's chips went in on the river {9-Spades}.

Suchanek showed down {q-Clubs}{q-Spades} for two pair, but he was beaten by Krmpotic's {k-Spades}{5-Spades} which had flopped trips.

Suchanek hits the rail and we're ready for heads up play.
