Little Flushes, Big Differences

Preflop Simon Morris opened to 16,000 and Steve Krmpotic called from the big blind.

The flop came {2-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{9-Clubs} with Krmpotic check-calling an 8,000 chip bet from Morris.

They both checked the {j-Clubs} turn and Morris flat called a 16,000 chip bet from Krmpotic on the {5-Diamonds} river.

Krmpotic rolled over {A-Spades}{6-Clubs} for a turned flush, and Morris flashed the {5-Clubs} for a smaller flush as he mucked.

Morris is back down to 70,000. Krmpotic has 107,000.

David Steicke Eliminated in 4th Place ($9,000 AUD)

David Steicke's remarkable fall from grace is complete. After both Jan Suchanek and Simon Morris doubled through Steicke a couple of times each, he found himself as one of the shorter stacks. It would be Morris who would finish the job off, not kind enough to return the favour of a chip up to Steicke.

Morris raised to 16,000 preflop, with Steicke moving in for just a little bit more.

Steicke: {10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Morris: {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

The board ran out {6-Spades}{8-Spades}{j-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Hearts} eliminating Steicke.

Jim Sachinidis Eliminated in 5th Place ($7,650 AUD)

"Canada" as Jim Sachindis had been calling Jan Suchanek all afternoon, finally got his man.

Suchanek opened the bidding preflop from under-the-gun and Sachinidis called all in from the small blind. Simon Morris called from the big blind and the flop came {Q-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades}.

The two active players checked, and when the {3-Diamonds} hit the turn Suchanek bet out and Morris check-folded.

Suchanek: {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}
Sachinidis: {k-Clubs}{9-Spades}

The river was the {8-Hearts} and not one of Sachinidis' outs, so he'll hit the rail fifth. Suchanek has been impressive in fighting all the way back to 130,000.

Suchanek Doubles Through Steicke

Jan Suchanek has taken a monster pot of David Steicke to move back over 100,000.

Preflop Steicke opened the cutoff to 16,000 and Suchanek made it 24,000. Steicke called and they went heads up to the {3-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{7-Spades} flop.

Steicke called an 8,000 chip bet from Suchanek and the turn fell the {q-Spades}. This time Suchanek led 16,000 with Steicke raising to 32,000. Suchanek called.

They both checked the {Q-Hearts} river and Steicke mucked when Suchanek tabled {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}.

Steicke drops to 19,500.

Morris is Steicke's Kryptonite?

Simon Morris is moving back into contention after reeling two pots over David Steicke.

In the first pot Steicke opened from the button with Morris calling from the big blind. They both checked the {6-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop and the turn was the {Q-Hearts}. Morris checked looking to trap Steicke, who took the bait.

Steicke led 12,000 and Morris check-raised to 24,000. Steicke laid the hand down.

A few hands later they would be at it again, with Morris opening under-the-gun and Steicke calling from the small blind.

The flop came {4-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and Steicke check-called a 6,000 chip bet from Morris. They both checked the turn {7-Clubs} and Morris once again bet out over a Steicke check on the {j-Clubs} river. Steicke again check-called but mucked when he saw Morris' {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}.

Morris is back to 110,000.

Suchanek Sets Sachinidis Up

Jan Suchanek doubles up
Jan Suchanek doubles up
Jan Suchanek recently doubled through Jim Sachinidis.

Preflop Sachinidis opened to 12,000, Suchanek fired back to 18,000. Sachinidis made it 24,000, with Suchanek calling for the reaminder of his stack.

Suchanek: {A-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Sachinidis: {A-Clubs}{9-Spades}

Sachinids would be drawing rather thin, and those outs became even worse after the {5-Spades}{8-Clubs}{a-Hearts} flop gave Suchanek a set.

The board completed {5-Diamonds} and {2-Diamonds} to move Suchanek back to 53,000 and Sachinidis down to 16,000.

The Morris Mauling Continues

Simon Morris continues to bleed chips, as the one-time chipleader endures a horrible slide.

Morris likely got unlucky in his most recent hand against David Steicke. Preflop, Morris opened the cutoff to 12,000 with Steicke calling from the big blind. The {4-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop, saw Steicke check-call a 6,000 chip bet from Morris.

The turn was the {10-Diamonds} which both players checked, the river {9-Clubs} was a great card for Steicke's {k-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} and he bet out 12,000. Morris flat called and mucked upon seeing Steicke's straight.

Suchanek Slips Again

The break wasn't kind to Jan Suchanek. He was accumulating chips at a good pace before the break, but since that time things have just gone backwards.

Suchanek opened from the cutoff to 12,000 with Steve Krmpotic three-betting from the big blind. Suchanek came back over the top to 24,000 with Krmpotic making the call.

The flop came {9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and Suchanek led out over Krmpotic's check. Krmpotic then check-raised to 12,000 with Suchanek making it 18,000. Krmpotic moved all in for another 1,500 on top, with Suchanek making the call.

Both players tabled overpairs with Krmpotic's {Q-Hearts}{q-Clubs} in front of Suchanek's {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}.

The {3-Hearts} turn and {a-Diamonds} river changed nothing, moving Krmpotic back to 96,000 and dropping Suchanek to 52,000.

Power of Steicke

Since the break Steicke has steamed ahead.

First Steicke took chips off Jan Suchanek. Steicke opened the cutoff to 12,000 and Suchanek called from the big blind.

The flop came {6-Spades}{10-Hearts}{4-Spades} with Suchanek check-raising to 12,000 and Steicke calling. Steicke then check called the turn and river bets from Suchanek with the board completing {10-Clubs} and {8-Diamonds}.

Suchanek tabled {j-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} thinking that he had bet enough to get Steicke's {3-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} out of the hand. Alas he obviously hadn't heard about Steicke's sick soul reading ability.

Just a hand or so later Steicke out-kicked Simon Morris, with both players holding top pair. Steicke check-called all the way down, as Morris bet every street on the {10-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} board.

Morris had {A-Hearts}{7-Clubs} against Steicke's {A-Clubs}{8-Hearts} with the eight kicker playing.

Stiecke his up to 205,000 and Morris drops to 56,000.
