Edmonds Sails Into Chip Lead

Brendan Edmonds has a knack of accumulating a massive stack and already today he's up to 71,000 and we're only into the second level of play.

Edmonds' big stack came courtesy of a huge pot with full house over full house. We arrived with the board already spread {4-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and Edmonds checking over to his opponent who fired 7,100. Edmonds went into the tank before declaring himself all in. It was then his opponent's turn to tank as his tournament life was on the line.

"Will you show me if I fold?" he posed but Edmonds was stone-faced. "Sorry guys...give me a minute...I have a full house," he continued.

Eventually the player declared a call with his {2-Diamonds}{2-Spades} however Edmonds revealed {6-Spades}{4-Spades} for a bigger boat to take it down and move to a clear chip lead!

Capra Trips Over Shinzaki

On a flop of {J-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{3-Spades} Michael Shinzaki checked over to Sam Capra who bet out 1,100. Shinzaki made the call and the {8-Clubs} fell on the turn.

Shinzaki checked, Capra bet 2,000 and Shinzaki called once again to see the {4-Hearts} land on the river. Both players checked it down and Shinzaki tabled {3-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} for trip fives to take it down. Capra slips to 29,000.

Maguire Eliminated

Jessie Maguire is busto. We didn't catch the action but looking at the cards, we're guessing it may have been all in on the flop.

The board read {7-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{J-Spades} with Maguire's {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts} failing to complete his flush against his opponent's {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}.

Meanwhile on the same table, Tony G has found an early double up as he now sits with 38,700 chips.

Bill Jordanou
Bill Jordanou
Hometown favorite and 3rd place finisher in the $100,000 Challenge, Bill Jordanou has just made an early exit from the 2010 Aussie Millions Main Event.

As retold by one of the players at Jordanou's table, Dean Nyberg opened the pot with a raise to 525 from the button and was called by the small blind before the action reached Jordanou in the big, who kicked it up to 1,750. Nyberg then four-bet to 5,200 prompting the small blind to fold and Jordanou made the call, leaving himself just 2,000 behind.

The ensuing flop came king-high and Jordanou moved all in. His opponent made the call holding some variation of ace-king and Jordanou's {K-?}{Q-?} was second best. Two bricks later, Jordanou was on the rail.

Adgee Out Manero'ed!

Andrew "Adgee" Jeffreys is playing for some home viewers
Andrew "Adgee" Jeffreys is playing for some home viewers
In a battle of ChipMeUp players Carlos "Manero" Fonseca was paid for his lack of faith in Andrew "Adgee" Jeffreys.

On a flop of {6-Spades}{Q-Spades}{4-Clubs} Fonseca called a 1,400 chip bet from Jeffreys. They moved to the turn {7-Spades} where Jeffreys fired a second bullet to 3,500. After some thought and counting his chips Fonseca made the call.

The river was the {2-Clubs} and Jeffreys quickly bet out 5,500 trying for an air of confidence. Fonseca took his time before tossing out two yellow 5,000 chips to make the call.

Fonseca rolled over his {Q-Clubs}{j-Clubs} straight away, and Jeffreys responded by tossing his cards into the muck.

Jeffreys drops to 18,500.

Backers of both players on the popular staking site will be sure to be sweating their progress throughout. You can get staked into the next big live or online tournament simply by checking out ChipMeUp.

Oh Baby, A Double Up

On a recent trip over to James Obst's table, we found him all in for his last 5,825 and called by an unknown opponent.

At the showdown, Obst tabled a pocket pair of kings and was up against his opponent's {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}.

The ensuing board ran out {J-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and Obst's kings held up, kicking him back up to 11,600 in chips.

Full House Fools Field

Josh "JJProdigy" Field was the preflop aggressor, making it 550 to go, with the big blind making the call.

They took a flop of {K-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{J-Spades} and both players checked. The turn was the {9-Hearts} and the big blind led for 200. Field raised it up to 1,050 and the big blind made the call.

The river brought the {J-Diamonds} and the big blind led out again for 800. Field made the call but mucked when his opponent showed {J-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a full house. Field slips to 15,700 on a table which also features Joel Dodds and Andrew Jeffreys.

Kinsey Sends One Away

James Kinsey or Morpheus from the Matrix - you decide.
James Kinsey or Morpheus from the Matrix - you decide.
The all the action in this hand happened preflop. James Kinsey, who has an uncanny resemblance to Morpheus from the movie The Matrix, and his opponent got all their chips in the middle and the cards were on their backs.

Kinsey: {j-?}{j-?}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

The board ran out {2-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}.

And with that, Kinsey, sent his opponent to The Matrix - err we mean the rail.

Chip Him Up

Rayan Nathan has quietly moved himself up to 28,000 chips after we caught him take down a small pot.

Nathan fired 2,000 on the river on a board of {8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}, found a caller and tabled {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} for the queen-high flush for the best hand.

Bach That Ass Up

David Bach was caught with his hand in the cookie jar by Andy McCreedy in a recent pot, dropping back down to 22,300 in chips.

McCreedy opened the pot with a raise to 625 from the button and was called by both Philipp Gruissem in the small blind and Bach in the big.

The flop came down {4-Spades}{2-Spades}{9-Hearts} and Gruissem checked to Bach who fired a 725 bet. McCreedy called and Gruissem folded, sending the action heads-up to the turn -- {4-Diamonds}.

Both players checked 4th Street, opting to see a free river card, which was the {J-Spades}.

Bach took one last stab at the pot, firing a 1,225 bet, but McCreedy looked him up.

"You got it," said Bach, sending his hand into the muck. McCreedy showed {K-Spades}{J-Clubs} for the win.
