Chevalier Chips Up

On the {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop, Danny Chevalier checked and Michael Pedley, winner of the $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em with Rebuys event, bet 24,000. Patrick Healy made the call behind and then action fell back on Chevalier. He raised and made it 50,000 to go. Pedley folded and Healy called.

The turn was the {3-Hearts} and Chevalier bet 50,000. Healy quickly folded and Chevalier won the pot to chip up a bit.

Mellado Uses Pure Aggression to Push Out Angood

Action folded around to Andrew Mellado on the button and he raised to 17,000, which Rob Angood three-bet to 38,000 from the big blind. Mellado made the call, and then called Angood's bet of 43,000 on the {5-Spades}{3-Clubs}{K-Hearts} flop.

When the {6-Diamonds} hit the turn, Angood slowed down with a check, opening the door for Mellado to fire out 60,000. Angood made a quick call and then checked the {2-Diamonds} river. Mellado instantly bet 75,000, which caused a sharp look of pain on Angood's face, as calling would cost most of his 102,000 chips. About 30 seconds passed before Angood made the laydown and Mellado took down the pot without a showdown.

Antonios Likes Seeing Flops with Koon

Alexander Antonios raised from the cutoff seat to 15,000. Jason Koon three-bet out of the big blind to 50,000. Antonios called and opted to take a flop in position.

The flop came down {10-Clubs}{8-Spades}{4-Hearts} and Koon bet 55,000. Antonios called.

The turn was the {9-Hearts} and Koon slowed down with a check. Antonios bet 80,000 and Koon gave it up.

"I figured out how to keep getting chips from you," said Antonios. "Don't get my money in preflop and see flops."

Nguyen Gets a Double

On a {2-Spades}{Q-Spades}{10-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} board Aage Ravn checked to his neighbor, Minh Nguyen, who pushed all-in for 136,000 in a pot containing around 150,000 chips. The Norwegian player tanked for a bit but eventually made the call.

Nguyen showed {Q-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} and the dealer announced, "Full house, queens over twos". Ravn shook his head and mucked as Nguyen found a nice double up.

Hinrichsen Holds For the Knockout

Ben Jenkins
Ben Jenkins

Andrew Hinrichsen opened the button with a small raise, and Ben Jenkins clicked it back with a three-bet from the big blind. Hinrichsen four-bet back, Jenkins five-bet, and Hinrichsen six-bet shoved for 354,000 total. Jenkins had just about the same size stack, and he called it off to see what was what.

Showdown
Hinrichsen: {10-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}
Jenkins: {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds}

The board ran out {2-Diamonds} {J-Spades} {4-Hearts} {J-Clubs} {2-Clubs}, and Hinrichsen's pair held up. When Jenkins' stack was counted down, his 353,000 chips had him covered by just one lonely thousand, and that's the way his Main Event has ended.

It's more than a double for Hinrichsen, too, moving him up around 715,000.

Barrett Flops Quads to Crack Roumeliotis' Aces

Alexander Roumeliotis
Alexander Roumeliotis

After Matthew Turk raised to 15,000 from early position, action folded to Alexander Roumeliotis in the cutoff seat. He reraised to 34,000. Out of the small blind, Josh Barrett four-bet to 86,000. Play folded back through to Roumeliotis, he shoved for around 155,000 and Barrett quickly called.

Roumeliotis tabled the {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts} and was in front of Barrett's {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} with a chance to double up.

That chance of doubling up grew ridiculously slim after Barrett flopped quads on the {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} flop. The turn was the {2-Diamonds} and provided no sweat for Roumeliotis as he was now drawing dead. The river was the {4-Spades} and officially completed the board to end Roumeliotis' tournament.
