Collihole Folds to Rossiter Pressure

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante
Jeff Rossiter
Jeff Rossiter

From the cutoff, Jonathon Collihole raised to 1,900. His neighbor on the button, Aussie Jeff Rossiter, three-bet to 5,400 and both blinds folded. Collihole called and checked blind before the {9-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop hit. Rossiter bet 3,300 and Collihole called.

Collihole checked blind again and the {A-Spades} hit the turn. This time around, Rossiter checked behind and Collihole instantly tapped the table again to blind check for the third consecutive time. The {A-Clubs} completed the board and Rossiter slid forward 20,000 in chips, easily covering Collihole's stack.

Collihole had thought about it for four minutes or so before someone called the clock. He had it run down to twenty seconds and folded.

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

On a flop of {4-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} Mustapha Kanit checked his option over to Barry Forrester who tossed out 5,000. Kanit called.

The turn brought the {3-Spades} and both players checked.

The dealer then produced the {7-Spades} on the river and Kanit fired out 12,600. Forrester called, then mucked his hand, when Kanit tabled {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for two pair.

Gjelstad Check Raises Fluckiger

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

We arrived just in time to catch the tail end of a heads-up hand between Jonas Gjelstad and Roger Fluckiger on the turn with the community cards reading {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{q-Hearts}.

Gjelstad checked the action over to Fluckiger who bet out 5,500, which Gjelstad called without much hesitation.

The {7-Clubs} river brought another check from Gjelstad and another bet from Fluckiger, this time for 9,000.

“How much more are you playing?” Gjelstad asked Fluckiger, who spread out his remaining five 5k yellow chips.

Gjelstad slid out a bet of 50,000 to put Fluckiger all in and after some deliberation he let it go.

Addamo Doubles

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante
Michael Addamo - Paul Hoefer
Michael Addamo - Paul Hoefer

Tty Ly was first to act and raised to 1,800. Action folded to Michael Addamo in the small blind and the local three-bet all in for 11,000. Big blind Paul Hoefer, 2015 Little One for One-Drop champion and 2016 Aussie Millions side event winner, shoved for 23,100. Ly went deep into the tank but ultimately folded.

Michael Addamo: {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}
Paul Hoefer: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}

Judging by his reaction on the flop, Ly was happy with his decision for just a second as he said "Ahhh!" when the {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{2-Spades} hit.

The {3-Diamonds} on the turn gave Hoefer some new outs but the {A-Spades} on the river wasn't one of the cards he was looking for.

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

From middle position, high stakes player Anton Astapau raised to 1,700 and Jennifer Tilly called in the hijack. Mark Ryan in the cutoff called as well, and so did big blind Sarah Bilney.

The flop came {2-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and Bilney checked. Astapau bet 900 and Tilly raised to 3,000. Ryan called, Bilney folded, Astapau called.

All three of them checked the {Q-Hearts} on the turn before the {7-Hearts} completed the board. Astapau bet 6,000 and Tilly folded. Ryan called but mucked after being shown {A-Spades}{7-Clubs} by Astapau.

Just Another Day at the Office

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante
Fedor Holz
Fedor Holz

For a recreational player, Fedor Holz sure does play a lot of poker tournaments. The German late registered today and is busily chipping up here already and has just taken down yet another pot.

Holz was the aggressor in the hand, raising to 1,800 from the button and finding a caller in the big blind, who checked the {9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop over to the German.

Needing no further prompting Holz continuation bet 2,200, which was called and the turn came down {a-Clubs}. This brought another check from the big blind and another bet from Holz, this time for 6,500 which was enough to get it done.

Holz started with 30,000 in chips a little over an hour ago, and already is one of the biggest stacks in the room.

Wakeman Wins Some

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

Reigning champion Ari Engel brought it in for a raise to 2,000 from the hijack before Matthew Wakeman three-bet to 5,600 in the cutoff. It folded back around to Engel and he made the call to see the flop land {10-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts}.

Engel checked it over to Wakeman who continued for 5,200. After a call from Engel the dealer turned the {q-Diamonds}. A quick check from Engel saw Wakeman think for around a minute before checking himself and the {8-Diamonds} peeled off on the end.

Engel loaded up and fired for 8,700 which was snapped off by Wakeman as the cards went on their backs.

Wakeman: {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Engel: {j-Spades}{10-Spades}

Wakeman’s top pair was good against Engel’s second pair and Wakeman added that pot to his stack to eclipse the six-figure mark.
