Lim Triples Up

Level 4 : 400/800, 800 ante

Chin Wei Lim raised to 1,800 from under the gun and was called by Toby Lewis in middle position as well as Chino Rheem and Kristen Bicknell in the blinds.

The flop came {2-Spades}{10-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and the blinds checked over to Lim who continued for 3,500. Lewis then raised to 8,900. Rheem looked over at Lim's stack and asked if he had any big chips before making the call. Lim then moved all in for 14,400. With no option to re-raise, Lewis called. Rheem jokingly motioned a muck then called as well.

The turn brought the {7-Hearts} and Rheem asked Lewis if he was playing 27,000 in chips before immediately moving all in.

"Great speech," replied Lewis before ultimately mucking his hand.

"I think it was a bad bet," added Rheem before tabling his {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} for a straight and flush draw. Lim flipped over his {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for a pair of jacks and took down the pot after the {8-Spades} bricked on the river.

Lewis Doubles Through Addamo

Level 4 : 400/800, 800 ante

Toby Lewis: {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Michael Addamo: {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

Lewis was at risk until the board ran out {2-Clubs}{k-Spades}{10-Spades}{a-Clubs}{3-Spades} giving him the winning hand with two-pair.

Play Resumes

Level 5 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

During the break and some of the previous level, the Tournament Directors and players discussed altering the parameters of the tournament.

Consequently, it was decided that play for the day would end after 30 minutes of this level so that people had the option to go to the Australian Open Men's Final.

As a result, there will be no re-draw tonight, and time extension chips will be not reset. Play will resume at 1:10 p.m. (AEDT) and a re-draw will occur at the end of level six, while registration will close at the end of level seven.

The cards are now back in the air with 30 minutes remaining in the day.

Ziegler Eliminated by Toma

Level 5 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Manig Loeser raised to 2,100 from under the gun plus one before Tobias Ziegler re-raised to 7,500 from the small blind. Tsugunari Toma was in the big blind and bumped it up to 17,000 which saw Loeser instantly muck his hand. With the decision back on Ziegler he moved all in for 43,600. Toma made the quick call and had Ziegler covered.

Tsugunari Toma: {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Tobias Ziegler: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}

Zielger looked in great shape to double up especially after his over pair improved to a set on the {8-Spades}{k-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop. Unfortunately for Zielger the board ran out the {j-Diamonds} then {10-Clubs} giving Toma the unlikely victory with a straight.

Toma and Loeser Chop

Level 5 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Manig Loeser opened to 2,100 under the gun and both Tsugunari Toma and Kahle Burns called from the blinds.

The flop landed {3-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and Loeser continued for 2,600. Toma called, and Burns folded as the {K-Diamonds} checked through on the turn.

The river fell the {A-Hearts} and Toma bet out 6,000 and Loeser called.

Toma tabled his {A-Spades}{9-Hearts}, and Loeser revealed his {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}, and the pot was chopped up.

Lim's Shove is Enough

Level 5 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

On a flop of {9-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{9-Hearts} Chin Wei Lim checked from the big blind before Kazuhiko Yotsushika bet 2,500 from the button. Lim then raised to 6,200. Yotsushika called.

The turn brought the {j-Spades} and Lim bet out 13,000. Yotsushika raised to 30,000. Lim sat motionless for his allocated 30-seconds before his time extension was automatically played. A moment later Lim moved all in for 55,700 in total. Yotsushika didn't take long to accept he was beat before he tossed his cards to the muck.

Lim smiled and flashed a queen and ten giving him a straight before he raked in the pot.
