Cassell Survives With a Chop

Level 29 : Blinds 100,000/250,000, 250,000 ante

Jennifer Cassell ripped from the small blind for 2,700,000 and Daniel Neilson called from the big blind.

Jennifer Cassell: Q5 All in
Daniel Neilson: KQ

Cassell was in trouble and was dominated by the hand of Neilson, and looked to be heading for the rail on the 10A6 flop. A 6 on the turn brought around some chop possibilties, and the 10 on the river did double-pair the board, meaning both players chopped it up.

Lees Staying Alive

Level 29 : Blinds 100,000/250,000, 250,000 ante

Reece Bedot made it 500,000 from under the gun and Johan Lees shoved 2,800,000 from the small blind. Bedot called.

Johan Lees: QQ All in
Reece Bedot: A7

Lees was at risk but had the best hand, which further improved on the 7Q10 flop with top set. A K on the turn did gave Bedot a gutshot, but the 7 rived filled up Lees and kept him alive.

Dustin Tran Eliminated in 6th Place (A$42,300)

Level 29 : Blinds 100,000/250,000, 250,000 ante
Dustin Tran
Dustin Tran

Dustin Tran wasted no time, ripping in 3,500,000 from the small blind. But before the chips had even settled, Jennifer Cassell cold four-bet shoved her towering 7,000,000 stack from the big blind. Bedot, calm as ever, snap-called his 3,600,000 and suddenly, one the biggest pot of the tournament was live—with three players all-in and dreaming.

Dustin Tran: QJ All in
Reece Bedot: AA All in
Jennifer Cassell: 88

Aces for Bedot. The Snowmen for Cassell. And Tran? Armed with paint and hoping to scribble all over their dreams.

The flop came down 539, and the tension hit a fever pitch as the rail roared. Tran got no help. Cassell picked up a glimmer with a backdoor straight draw. Then the 6 hit the turn—no good for Tran, who was now drawing dead. Cassell picked up a gutter, but Bedot's nut diamond held all the power.

The J on the river changed nothing.

Tran was sent packing in sixth. Cassell took a hit. And Bedot? He rocketed up the leaderboard!

Neilson Keeps the Pressure On

Level 29 : Blinds 100,000/250,000, 250,000 ante

Jennifer Cassell opened to 500,000 from the hijack with KQ and Daniel Neilson three-bet the cutoff to 1,700,000 holding K10. When it got back to Cassell, she called.

A flop of 9104 saw Cassell check-call a bet of 1,000,000 from Neilson to the 2 turn. Again Cassell checked, and again Neilson piled on the pressure with a bet of 1,700,000. Cassell had to give it up.

Level 28 : Blinds 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

Daniel Neilson limped in from the small blind with K3 and Johan Lees raised to 710,000 out of the big blind with 99. Neilson called.

A flop of 10J3 was spread across the table and both tapped the table to the Q turn, giving Neilson a flush. Again the action went check-check and the 5 hit the river. Neilson counted out chips and fired out 2,000,000. Lees let it go.

Neilson's Ace-High Good at Showdown

Level 28 : Blinds 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

Daniel Neilson made it 400,000 from the cutoff and Reece Bedot peeled from the big blind.

The flop came Q96 and Bedot check-called a bet of 350,000 from Neilson to the 10 turn, where he again went into check-call mode when Neilson bet 1,400,000.

Both knuckled the table on the 9 river and Neilson's AJ was good against Bedot's missed flush draw with 82.
