Joyce Continues His Ascent

Toby Joyce is storming up the counts after just taking down another chunky pot and is well over two-million chips now!

The action was picked up on the 8♦10♥Q♠3♥ board where Joyce checked from the small blind and Steven Zhou fired 125,000 out of the big blind. Chao Duan folded, and Joyce called.

A 4♥ on the river drew a check out of Joyce, then Zhou went small with a bet of 100,000. Joyce took some time and then counted out a raise of 410,000 before putting it over the betting line. Zhou called in a flash.

Joyce then revealed a flush with K♥8♥, and Zhou's hand went into the muck.

Peter Stott shoved for a bit over 400,000 on the button and just behind him, Yuanting Wang also went all in from the small blind to put Stott at risk.

The K♣7♠8♠ flop left Stott drawing slim, but the 10♥ turn immediately improved him to an unbeatable straight as the table let out a collective "Ooooh!"

Kahle Burns opened to 50,000 from the hijack and was three-bet to 115,000 by Toby Joyce in the cutoff. Action folded back around to Burns, who called.

Burns then check-called a 60,000 bet from Joyce on the 6♥5♥7♠ flop before leading out for 60,000 himself on the 9♥ turn. Joyce called.

The [4d completed the board and Burns sized down for a 50,000 bet. Joyce tanked for a few minutes before opting to lay his hand down.

"It would have been an ambitious bluff," Joyce said to Kahle.

It was a near coin flip for Joyce, who would need to fade flush and pair outs to double up and keep his Main Event going.

The K♠ turn provided some relief as it improved Joyce to a set, and the A♥ river changed nothing to award Joyce the double up.

In the third hand, Bhatt opened the hijack to 50,000 and Yuanting Wang three-bet to 155,000. Bhatt called.

Demlakian Back to a Milly

Kiavash Arbabi made it 40,000 to go from middle position and Ken Demlakian three-bet to 85,000 from the cutoff. It got back to Arbabi and he called.

The flop came K♥Q♦5♣ and Arbabi check-called a bet of 45,000 from Demlakian to the 10♥ turn, where both checked.

A 3♦ hit the river and after Arbabi checked, Demlakian fired out 135,000. Arbabi went into the tank for a while but eventually decided to fold, allowing Demlakian's stack to climb back to around a million.
