Jim Gardner limped from early position and the player to his left raised to 2,200. The player on the button called, RJ Pinkham came along from the big blind, and four players took a flop of 4♠9♦8♦.
Action checked around and the 5♦ turn put three diamonds on the board. Pinkham bet 3,000 and Gardner quickly called. The other two players got out of the way and it was heads-up to the river, which came the A♠.
Pinkham checked and Gardner did the same before tabling the 6♥7♠ for a straight. It was good as Pinkham simply mucked his cards.
