Perry Gets River Value

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Scott Stewart opened to 200,000 in the cutoff with {a-Spades}{7-Spades} and received a call from Chris Perry, defending his big blind with {8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}. Perry checked and then called a continuation-bet of 150,000 from Stewart on a flop of {2-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{6-Hearts} with middle pair.

Stewart improved on the river {a-Clubs} and action checked to the river {8-Spades}, where Perry hit two pair and led out for 300,000.

"I can't fold," said Stewart after a bit of deliberation. He put in chips to match and saw the bad news. However, Stewart has also taken down a few smaller pots without showdown and has not lost any ground despite the lost pot.

Stewart Gets It Back

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Scott Stewart completed his small blind with {j-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and saw Ken Stacy check his option in the big blind with {4-Spades}{2-Clubs}. The flop came {j-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and Stewart checked his top pair over to Stacy, who bet 250,000. Stewart called.

Action checked through the turn {10-Spades} and Stewart fired out 350,000 on the river {k-Hearts}. Stacy raised to 900,000 and Stewart immediately called, picking off the bluff to chip up to over 6 million. Stewart is now the clear chip leader as four-handed play continues.

Stacy Wins A Couple

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Ken Stacy opened to 225,000 in the cutoff with {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and was called by Scott Stewart who was in the big blind and defended with {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}.

Stewart check-called 250,000 on the flop {2-Spades}{6-Hearts}{7-Spades} and then both players checked the turn {3-Spades}. The river {3-Diamonds} paired the board and Stewart check-folded for another 600,000.

A few hands prior, the two were also involved in a hand where Stewart held two sixes and lost at showdown to the two nines in Stacy's hand.

Chris Perry's {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs} in the cutoff and Scott Stewart's {k-Clubs}{q-Spades} on the button got involved in a pot that saw a flop of {k-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}. Perry check-called 250,000 and then another 400,000 on the turn {j-Diamonds}.

The river fell {j-Spades} and Perry checked again. Stewart bet 775,000 and Perry went deep into the tank, eventually finding a fold.

Stewart has taken down a couple early pots in the opening hands of the level, and he now has over 5 million.

The four remaining players have agreed to take a five-minute bathroom break. Play will resume momentarily.

Stewart Good At Showdown

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Matt Mauldin opened the action with a raise to 185,000 with {a-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}. Chris Perry called in the small blind with {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and Scott Stewart defended his big blind with {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}, taking action three ways to the flop {k-Spades}{9-Spades}{5-Spades}.

Everybody checked and the turn came {5-Clubs}. Perry checked again and Stewart bet 240,000 with his nines up. Mauldin folded and then Perry found a call, taking heads-up action to the river {q-Hearts} where both players once again checked to showdown and Stewart won with a better two pair.

Perry picked up a pot a few hands prior, making his orbit more or less breakeven despite losing the hand to Scott.

Stewart and Stacy Trade Places

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Scott Stewart completed his small blind with {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and saw Ken Stacy check his option behind with {5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. Both players checked through the flop {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and the turn came {3-Spades}. Stewart checked again and Stacy bet 250,000. Stewart called.

The river fell {8-Clubs} and Stewart checked one last time. Stacy reached for chips, firing out 425,000 and sending Stewart into the tank for a full minute before he found a call.

"I think you win," said Stacy as he showed the bluff. Stewart took down the pot and with it, became the new chip leader while Stacy has now become the shortest stack in the tournament. Nonetheless, all four players are all within 1.1 million of each other, and nobody has even threatened to run away with things to this point in the tournament.
