Jacks Hold for Leonard

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Wayne Leonard opened to 5,000 in early position and Gil Levy flat-called on the button. The big blind three-bet shoved a stack of about 28,000 and Leonard re-shoved for 53,000.

Levy mulled over his decision and gave away some information about his hand as he did so. "I haven't hit a set all day," he said before folding {7-}{7-} face-up.

Big Blind: {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Wayne Leonard: {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

Leonard was ahead with jacks and his opponent received no help from the board of {10-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{k-Spades}{9-Spades} to hit the rail and send the sizable pot Leonard's way.

Warde Loses Chunk to Sundberg, Wins Some Back With a Straight

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Heather Warde, who asked PokerNews to note that she is the last woman standing in the Day 1b field with five tables left, opened to 8,000 from the cutoff and Matthew Sundberg flat-called on the button.

Warde continued for 7,000 on the flop of {4-Spades}{k-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and Sundberg called. Ward bet 12,500 on the {4-Clubs} turn and her opponent again called. Warde fired a third bet of 22,500 o the {2-Diamonds} and Sundberg quickly called before showing {k-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for top two pair. Warde did not show.

Warde was upset about losing a big portion of her stack but her mood changed on the next had when she held {6-}{8-} and flopped the nut straight on a board of {5-}{7-}{4-} to eliminate an opponent.

Raio Rivers Broadway to Stay Alive

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

Nick Raio open-shoved a stack of about 40,000 from early position and the next player to act flat-called. A middle position player then re-shoved and the early position player folded.

Nick Raio: {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Opponent: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}

Raio was in bad shape but the flop came {q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Hearts} to give him an up-and-down straight draw. The {5-Clubs} on the turn didn't change things but the {a-Hearts} on the river had Raio with his fist in the air as he hit his straight to stay alive.

Sundberg Makes Right Call to Send Opponent to the Rail

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

Matthew Sundberg relayed a hand to PokerNews where a player in late position opened to 7,000 and Sundberg called out of the small blind, while the big blind also came along.

Action checked to the raiser on the flop of {q-}{6-Spades}{8-Spades} and he quickly moved all-in for 85,000. Sundberg tanked for several minutes and ultimately called, while the big blind folded.

Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Matthew Sundberg: {q-Spades}{7-Spades}

Sundberg didn't need to his flush as he was ahead with a pair of queens, which held up as the board finished out {9-}{8-} to send his opponent to the rail.

Quad Jacks for Bolte

Level 13 : 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante
Howard Bolte
Howard Bolte

Michael Morusty opened in late position and Howard Bolte raised all-in for around 25,000 from the big blind. Morusty called with a bigger stack.

Howard Bolte: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Michael Morusty: {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

Morusty noted that he needed "to get lucky" before the flop came {j-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} to give Bolte top set and have Morusty drawing dead. The {j-Clubs} on the turn improved Bolte to quads and the {9-Clubs} on the river gave Morusty a worthless pair.

"Quads. Man!" Morusty said in awe. "You gotta feel blessed, man."
