"TheSunRunner" and Williams Next to Advance

Level 4, Blinds: 400/800 (120)

"TheSunRunner" had shoved preflop several times to whittle "GoblinSkipPatrol" down to under eight bigs. Eventually, they would call with {k-Spades}{5-Hearts}, and were ahead of the {q-Spades}{9-Clubs} of "TheSunRunner."

However, the flop of {9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} would jump "TheSunRunner" into the lead with top pair, and the turn {j-Spades} and {q-Clubs} river only improved "TheSunRunner" to give them the victory

Elsewhere, Aubrey "RiverMeDaddy" Williams has punched her ticket to the Elite Eight, defeating "Schwibbs1."

"GoblinSkiPatrol" Short Again

Level 2, Blinds: 300/600 (85)

"TheSunRunner" raised to 1,320, and "GoblinSkiPatrol" three bet to 4,625. "TheSunRunner" called, and the flop came down {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}. "GoblinSkiPatrol" led for 2,340, "TheSunRunner" called, and the {2-Spades} hit the turn. This time, "GoblinSkiPatrol" checked, and "TheSunRunner" fired 5,100. "GoblinSkiPatrol" called, and the {9-Hearts} completed the board.

"GoblinSkiPatrol" checked, and "TheSunRunner" quickly moved all in. "GoblinSkiPatrol" had to call off their remaining stack, but couldn't do it, and found the fold.

"Zenyattta" Punches First Elite Eight Ticket

While we were typing up that last update, "Zenyattta" was the first player to advance to the next round, defeating "DidUKnowDat."

"GoblinSkiPatrol" Avoids an Early Elimination

Level 1, Blinds: 200/400 (75)

"GoblinSkiPatrol" was short stacked when they four bet shoved pre holding {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, and "TheSunRunner" put them at risk holding {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}. The flop of {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}{8-Diamonds} kept the nines in front, but the {a-Hearts} turn changed that. The river was the {2-Diamonds}, and "GoblinSkiPatrol" secured a much needed double up to 37,872.

"LetMeWin3437" Wins Flip to Eliminate Berkey

Matt Berkey
Matt Berkey

Level 5, Blinds: 500/1,000 (150)

After a few raises, Matt Berkey was all in for his final 33,000 or so with pocket sixes, and he was flipping against the {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} of "LetMeWin3437." The flop of {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}{3-Hearts} gave "LetMeWin3437" a pair, and a third queen came on the turn. The river brought no help, and Berkey was eliminated short of the next round.

Just one more matchup is taking place still, where "MrSchneebly" has a big lead over "jbk15212."

"bottleopener" Doubles With Ace High

Level 4, Blinds: 400/800 (120)

"Zenyattta" raised to 1,600, and "bottleopener" three bet to 6,500. "Zenyattta" called, and the flop came {10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}. "bottleopener" check called a c-bet of 4,500, and the {5-Hearts} came on the turn. "bottleopener" checked again, and "Zenyattta" bet enough to put "bottleopener" all in.

They called with {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}, but it was good, as "Zenyatta" had just {7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for seven high. An eight on the river changed nothing, and "bottleopener" scored a much-needed double up.

On another table, "homely" also advanced to the next round.

Aubrey "RiverMeDaddy" Williams Advances to the Next Round

Level 3, Blinds: 350/700 (105)

Aubrey "RiverMeDaddy" Williams had already pulled out to a lead of 80,000 to 20,000 on her opponent "youcantcall" when the two got in a raising war preflop. "youcantcall" risked their stack with {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}, and it was a classic coin flip, as Williams showed {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}.

The flop of {q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{2-Hearts} gave Williams some extra outs, but they weren't needed, as the {a-Spades} hit the turn. No five came on the river, and Williams closed out her match in quick fashion.

Elsewhere, "GoblinSkiPatrol" and "MalcolmR" have also advanced.

Berkey Calls an Early Bluff

Level 2, Blinds: 300/600 (75)

Catching up with the action on the turn of a board showing {j-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}, "LetMeWin3437" checked to Matt Berkey, who fired 1,500. "LetMeWin3437" check raised to 5,050, and Berkey called to see the {9-Diamonds} completed the board.

Another bet of 8,150 was called by Berkey, and "LetMeWin3437" could only muster up {7-Spades}{4-Spades}, while Berkey had a jack in the hold for a pair to win the pot, and take a nice lead.

"LuckyRavioli" First Player to Advance

It looks like "LuckyRavioli" is the first player to win their first-round matchup, and a quick look at the table showed that his opponent, "johnny_civ", didn't show up, and was blinded out.

While typing this, "luckybluffer777" also advanced, knocking out "GoingHardinThaPa."
