Himmelbrand Virtually Doubles in Eight-Figure Pot
Level 26
: Blinds 75,000/150,000, 150,000 ante
Adam Calabrese from middle position and Greg Himmelbrand from the cutoff had build a pot of over 6,000,000 going into the river with the completed board reading 8♦5♦3♠Q♥8♠.
Calabrese checked a final time to Himmelbrand who announced a bet of 2,475,000, leaving just a single T-25,000 chip behind. Calabrese was uncomfortable with the spot but did not take too long before he elected to call.
Himmelbrand tabled K♥K♦, and his overpair was the winner. Calabrese lamented the runout, saying that he had ace-queen with the ace of diamonds, and Himmelbrand dragged a massive one.
