John Thompson Eliminated in 8th Place ($3,387)

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
John Thompson - 8th Place
John Thompson - 8th Place

John Thompson's last hand of the tournament went down recently, after he lost a flip holding {5-}{5-}.

Michael Forca held overcards with {a-}{j-} and the flop came down with an ace to put Thompson on the brink. He failed to catch the two-out shot he needed to survive, and hit the rail with an 8th place finish.

Jeremy Stein Eliminated in 9th Place ($2,540)

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Jeremy Stein - 9th Place
Jeremy Stein - 9th Place

Jeremy Stein watched the action fold around to him in the small blind, and holding {a-Clubs}{q-Spades} he raised to 24,000. Mike Sandler and his big stack were waiting in the big blind though, and he plunked a heap of red T25000 chips forward to set Stein all in if he wished to continue.

Stein called off with his big cards to find himself racing against Sandler's {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}, and the final board ran out {10-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} to leave the snowmen out in front.

Stein hit the rail in 9th place for $2,540 while Sandler continued his dominant performance.

Stuart Gelwarg Eliminated in 10th Place ($2,258)

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Stuart Gelwarg

Unfortunately we missed Stuart Gelwarg's bustout hand during a quick jaunt to the restroom (when ya gotta go, ya gotta go), but he finished in 10th place for $2,258.

According to Brian Correro, he took Gelwarg out with {10-}{10-} versus {8-}{8-} after Gelwarg opened to 20,000. Correro shoved all in to put the shorty at risk, and Gelwarg "snap-called" with his snowmen, only to see that his pocket pair had been trumped.

No sets or straights were made and Gelwarg hit the rail as the first elimination of the final table.

Dube Smoked, Clarkin Climbing

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
Mark Dube - 11th Place
Mark Dube - 11th Place

Joe Clarkin opened for 15,000 and Mark Dube three-bet to 38,000. Clarkin then moved all in to put Dube's last 120,000 at risk if he called, and call he did with the {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}.

Clarkin was racing against big slick with his {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and the final board of {6-Clubs}{2-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{q-Hearts} came clean to send the large pot his way - while sending Dube home with an 11th place finish in the process.
