Wacha Wacha

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
Dan Wach
Dan Wach

Dan Wach is somewhat of a local legend here at Borgata and for good reason. Wach has two 2nd place finishes, each for over $200,000 in tournaments here the last two years. Add in a 3rd place finish for $67,241 and a win for $40,873 - all at Borgata - and it's easy to understand why he is a feared player.

He's off to a good start today and just picked up a moderate sized pot with {K-}{Q-} when he made a small value bet on the river with the board showing {Q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-}{X-}.

None for Salsberg

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Matt Salsberg is in line to reenter the 2014 Borgata Spring Poker Open Championship event after busting to Korotki Abraham.

According to both Mark Herm and Abraham, there were three players on a flop of {q-Spades}{10-}{7-Spades}. Salsberg check-raised Abraham, then simply check-called 15,000 after the turn was the {10-Clubs}. The river was "a blank," Salsberg check-called all in for around 15,000 again, and Abraham showed {10-Spades}{6-Spades}.

Salsberg evidently mucked {a-}{a-}.

Abraham is up to 160,000.

Alwan Clips Khan

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
Khaled Alwan
Khaled Alwan

Melanie Weisner opened the pot to 800 from the hijack and found four callers including Junayed Khan from the cutoff, Kal Alwan from the button, and James Woods from the big blind.

The flop came {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and it was checked to Khan who bet 2,200. Only Alwan and Woods called.

The turn was the {10-Diamonds} and Woods checked. Khan bet 4,500 this time and again was called by both Alwan and Woods.

The river was the {J-Clubs} and Woods checked once more. Khan fired a third bullet, this time for 8,100. Alwan called and Woods shook his head and tossed a stack of chips on his cards. Woods stood up, his hands on his hips, staring at the board and decides to fold.

Khan mucks and Alwan shows {10-Spades}{8-Clubs} for turned trips.

Ostrander Calls the Clock

Level 5 : 150/300, 50 ante

Jeff Madsen raised to 775 from under the gun, and a player on the button meant to call, tossing out 1,075, but that is a raise. After a bit of confusion - the dealer was arguing that it was a call - the table concluded that it was a raise, and the action folded back to Madsen, who moved all in for effectively 23,075.

The player who accidentally raised went into the tank, and sat quietly for a very long time. After a while, he told the table, "You're just going to have to sit there and watch me get my massage."

At that point, Greg Ostrander spoke up.

"I've never called the clock in my life," he said before popping his clock cherry.

The floor was called over and started the countdown.

"Tell me when it's three seconds," the player requested.

Finally, after several minutes, the clock expired and the hand was dead. Madsen and a few of his tablemates shared a laugh as the two-time WSOP bracelet winner pulled in the pot.

Old School vs New School

Level 5 : 150/300, 50 ante
Dan Heimiller
Dan Heimiller

Dan Heimiller limped in middle position and Eric Baldwin decided to join along from the button. The small blind raised to 800 and both Heimiller and Baldwin called.

The flop came {J-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs} and the player in the small blind checked. Heimiller bet 2,000 and Baldwin called. The pre-flop raiser folded and the dealer put out the {3-Hearts} on the turn. This time Heimiller placed out a 4,000 bet. Baldwin thought for a few moments and then carefully slid his cards to the dealer.
