"All in and a call," we heard a dealer say over on Table 1.
When we arrived, Matt Affleck was at risk with , but he wasn't really "at risk" because the board was and James Campbell was drawing dead holding .
According to Affleck, the money went in on the flop, and after a meaningless completed the board, he doubled to 142,000 chips. Campbell fell to 41,000.
Jonathan Little was all in and at risk for what looked like 15,000 preflop. Kyle Bowker had already called, and Kenneth Lind, the original raiser, was in the tank.
After well over a minute, he folded face up.
Little:
Bowker:
Little was eliminated as the board came , and Bowker chipped up to 55,000.
Matt Salbserg has been eliminated and is in line for Event 9, which has a few minutes left to register. Here's Salbserg telling the Twitter world how it went down:
Izzet Temel is off to a good start today to say the least and he made it look easy in his most recent hand when he opened the action and a player three to his left re-raised him. Temel took one look at his opponent's stack and announced that he was all in, easily having him covered. His opponent made the mistake of calling with as Temel had woken up with a legitimate hand, the good old .
After the board ran out safe for Temel, table mate Alex Rocha said to him "so that's how you do it".
Temel is the current chip leader with 380,000 in chips.
Daniel Buzgon was all in and at risk preflop for around 30 big blind with , and unfortunately for him he was crushed by Frank Toscano's . The pocket kings held up as the board came , and Buzgon was eliminated.
"Ace-king's not doing so well, huh?" one player said.
A few hands later, Sean Jazayeri was all in with ace-king, holding on a flop of . Toscano was again the opponent, and flopped top pair with . Neither the turn () or river () were a heart or a king, and Jazayeri hit the rail.
After taking out two players holding ace-king, Toscano is up to 180,000 chips.
Shortly before the break with a flop of and a good sized pot already in the middle of the table, Christian Harder checked. His opponent made it 17,000 to go and Harder check-raised to 47,000. His opponent put in a large stack of blue 5,000 chips and Harder didn't think too long before announcing he was all in for 152,400 total. He was quickly called by his opponent who held a monster with for top pair with the nut flush draw. Harder had a bigger hand, for top set but would have to fade the flush draw to stay alive.
The turn was the changing nothing and the river was another safe card for Harder as it was the . Harder moves to the top of the leader board with the pot. With a good score here, Harder could move above six million in total lifetime winnings (online and live combined).
With around 20,000 in the middle, Kevin Grabel fired out a bet of 14,200 on a flop of . Jewook Oh raised to around 40,000, a third player folded, and Grabel moved all in for effectively 113,200. Oh snap-called.
Grabel:
Oh:
Grabel was on a draw, and unfortunately for him neither the on the turn nor the on the river improved his hand, crippling him to 30,000 chips. He was eliminated with unknown action soon after.
With 65,000 already in the middle, Valerie Novak moved all in over the top of Jeff Madsen. From the size of the pot and Madsen's position on the button it was an obvious four bet. Madsen tanked long and hard before folding and Novak was gracious and showed Madsen her hand... . Novak has had a good day thus far and is up to 185,000. Madsen is still looking good with 270,000.
