Dan Corrar claimed the title of first-place finisher here at Event 16: $500 Deep Stack Pot-Limit Omaha High Re-Entry as part of a four-way chop in the wee hours at the Borgata Winter Poker Open.

A total of 98 runners entered the tournament, creating a prize pool of $42,777. With blinds escalating to 15,000-30,000 and just 2.3 million chips in play, combined with the volatile nature of PLO, the players decided to reach an agreeable distribution of the prize money rather than risk flipping coins for the largest pay jumps of the tournament. Matt Forrest, Brad Altman and Joe Altomonte were the other players claiming the most lucrative prizes.

Corrar said the trophy means more to him than any amount of money, as he can share it with his nine children.

"I dedicate this to my beautiful nine children and my amazing butterfly," Corrar said.

Event 16: Yuebin Guo Eliminated in Sixth Place ($2,567)

Yuebin Guo - Sixth Place
Yuebin Guo - Sixth Place

Yuebin Guo raised pot for 192,000 more after a pot-sized bet from Matt Forrest on a {7-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} flop. Forrest began tanking, apologizing to the table and saying he needed a minute. Finally, after a minute or two of thought, Forrest half-shrugged.

"Alright, pot," he said. Guo pushed it all in.

Guo: {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{q-Spades}
Forrest: {k-Hearts}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}

Guo had a flush draw and some backdoor possibilities, while Forrest had top pair and a wrap. The turn brought a {9-Clubs}, giving Forrest a straight to the ten and adding a gutter to Guo's hand. A {5-Clubs} completed the board though, and Forrest is now overwhelming chip leader with about 1 million.

Event 16: Will McMahon Eliminated in Eighth Place ($1,711)

Will McMahon opened to 25,000, and Yuebin Guo popped it to 95,000. Everyone folded back to McMahon, who called.

McMahon pushed all in when the flop came {2-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}, and Guo called.

Guo: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}
McMahon: {j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

Guo was way ahead, but he found himself behind after the {10-Hearts} turned.

"Just need to dodge a diamond," McMahon said.

It wasn't to be, as a {3-Diamonds} fell.

"Ah, the best hand won," McMahon allowed.

Guo now leads the final seven with 602,000.

BREAKING: Christian Lusardi Arrested for Counterfeit Chips at Borgata

Christian Lusardi

On Friday, the New Jersey State Police and the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) announced that 2.7 million in counterfeit chips from Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa were discovered in a clogged sewer pipe at Harrah's Resort and Casino last weekend.

Prior to the blockage, the Borgata Winter Poker Open $2 Million Guarantee was suspended, and ultimately cancelled, after the staff discovered counterfeit chips.

An investigation revealed that Christian Lusardi, 42, was staying in the room where the pipes were clogged. Police say that Lusardi, who entered Day 2 of the event with the chip lead, introduced the counterfeits into the tournament multiple times. He was eliminated on Day 2, earning only "$6,814" according to The Press of Atlantic City.

"We are very pleased that the New Jersey State Police Casino Gaming Bureau has apprehended a suspect in connection with the counterfeit chip activity that compromised Event 1 of the Borgata Poker Open," Borgata senior vice president Joe Lupo told the Associated Press. "While this is a very positive development, the investigation by the (Division of Gaming Enforcement) and the state police is ongoing."

The DGE is unsure what will be done with the remaining 27 players and the unpaid prize pool.

"The division is committed to ensuring confidence and integrity in all gaming operations and will continue to work with Borgata and the New Jersey State Police until this case is closed," it said in a statement.

Lusardi left Harrah's last weekend and a warrant was issued, charging him with rigging a publicly exhibited contest, criminal attempt, and theft by deception. He was found at an undisclosed motel in Atlantic City on Friday, and was taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. His bail is set at $300,000.

This isn't Lusardi's first run in with authorities. In 2008, in his hometown of Fayetteville, North Carolina, his house was raided in an illegal gambling bust. He was charged with gambling and illegal alcohol sales.

Event 16: The Cutting Truth

Everyone's a Critic... Especially Allen Kessler
Everyone's a Critic... Especially Allen Kessler

Allen "The Chainsaw" Kessler is well-known on the professional poker circuit for telling it like it is... or at least telling everybody in earshot how he thinks it should be.

The man affectionately known as "Complainsaw" due to his propensity for speaking his mind just showed why, no matter what you think about his views on the world, you should probably consider them to be honest to a fault.

"Look at this thing..." he told a friend during a recent break in today's Pot-Limit Omaha tournament. "This sweater's got my name on it."

"Who would buy this?"

As Jules once told Jimmie in the classic film Pulp Fiction, "they're you're clothes," but one must admire Kessler for keeping it real nonetheless... even if his T-shirt is also an "Allen Kessler" branded swag bag item.
