Nong Doubles Early

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

We found Mitchell Nong all in with his chips being counted out for a double up with {a-}{a-} against an opponent who held {q-}{q-}. The two got it all in after the flop of {4-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}, according to another player at the table, and Nong's hand held up.

Vanessa Selbst Was Here on Day 1a, but She Hasn't Arrived to Day 1b of the 2014 Borgata Winter Poker Open WPT Main Event

Vanessa Selbst is always conspicuous in her absence from a Main Event field, and today is no different.

After firing at least one $3,500 bullet yesterday and failing to bag up a stack by the end of Day 1a, we expected to see Selbst back at it here on Day 1b to take another shot.

So far though, Selbst hasn't been seen, although a recent tweet indicates she'll be here shortly.

I'm sure the rest of the field is really happy to hear that...

On the Marc(us)

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

With the board reading {5-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{2-Spades}{4-Clubs} by the turn, Gregory Marcus led out for a bet of 1,750, only to see his lone opponent raise the action to 6,275.

Marcus tanked for a bit and asked for a count of the raise, before flatting to see the {10-Clubs} drop on the river.

Despite the escalation on fourth street, fifth was checked down and Marcus tabled his {j-Spades}{j-Clubs} for the winner.

"I had him on two tens..." Marcus remarked as he dragged the pot.

Packed House

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

As a tournament runs deeper into its structure, participants typically begin dropping out and the tournament dwindles in numbers. Not so here at Borgata today; as we get closer to the end of registration, more and more tables are filling up with newly registered runners. At this point, only two empty tables remain in the main tournament area.

Kevin Eyster just paid off an opponent who fired 3,325 on the river on a board of {a-Spades}{8-Clubs}{10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}. Eyster was shown {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a straight, and he's down to 22,000 in the early goings here.

Victoria Larkin on Day 1b of the 2014 WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open Championship
Victoria Larkin on Day 1b of the 2014 WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open Championship

After a player opened for 625 in late position, Victoria Larkin flatted from the cutoff, as did a third player in the small blind.

On the {3-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{q-Hearts} flop the opener slowed down with a check, and Larkin pounced on the pot by betting 1,200. Both opponents quickly mucked to Larkin's move, and she pushed closer to a 40,000 stack in the still early stages of this Borgata Winter Poker Open WPT Main Event.
