Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

The fifth flight of Event #10: $400 Almighty Stack NLH has come to a halt after 17 levels of play, with 839 entries compiled. Rueben Finkel bagged 1,342,000 in chips and it seems to be the biggest of the 198 Day 1e survivors to make it through.

A familiar face emerged from the field to bag a healthy 928,000 and that face is Arie Praisman who was part of a deal two days ago in Event #9: $300 Deepest Stack NLH. Praisman bagged another monster stack here today and will look to make another final table.

Some other big stacks advancing to Day 2 are Adam Agaey (1,319,000), Gilberto Taveras-Garcia (1,238,000), Michael Dichiaro (1,170,000), and Sarang Ahuja (1,127,000).

Many notable players bagged up and grabbed themselves a birth to the second day including Ory Hen (1,067,000), Olamide Otti (1,053,000), William Braden (819,000), CJ Biddle (664,000), Eric Siegel (646,000), Charles Kassin (606,000), and Aaron Massey (288,000).

The 839 that showed up brought the total to 2,020 which is just shy of the guarantee. The final flight is already underway and is sure to catapult the total prize pool well beyond the guarantee that was set. All players will be returning tomorrow at 12 p.m. to battle it out and the PokerNews live reporting team will be there to bring you all of the updates.

Praisman Off to Another Hot Start

Arie Praisman
Arie Praisman

Arie Praisman just days ago was part of an adjusted payout chop in Event #23: $300 Deepest Stack NLH and started the final day as the overall chipleader after running up an absurd lead on the last flight to make it through.

Praisman has continued his run-well here in Day 1e of the Almighty Stack as the first player to eclipse the million mark and shows no sign of slowing down with just one level remaining in the night.

Stephen Song Takes a Seat

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Stephen Song
Stephen Song

Stephen Song has just taken a seat in the tournament and is known to be one of the heaviest hitters in the game. Song flys about as close to the sun as any player in the world, so you can expect nothing but action coming from his table.

Song is having the best year of his young career with three six-figure cashes coming since June. The biggest of which was during the WSOP this summer where he took home his first shiny gold bracelet in Event #28: $ 1,000 No-Limit Hold'em for a staggering $341,854.

Look for Song to come out firing in this event en route to finding a massive stack by nights end.

Gordon Sends One Out the Door

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Arnaldo "AG" Gordon
Arnaldo "AG" Gordon

The flop read {9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and there was around 65,000 in the pot. Action checked to a player in the hijack who moved all in for 41,200. Arnaldo Gordon called on the button and another player check-called from middle position.

The {2-Spades} landed as a turn card and both players checked to the {9-Hearts} river card. Action checked to Gordon who bet 25,000 and his opponent check-called.

The all-in player showed {6-Spades}{6-Hearts} for a pair of sixes and Gordon tabled {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for three nines. His opponent on the side put threw {7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} into the muck and Gordon took down both pots, eliminating one player during the process.

Eriquezzo Bumps It Up on the River

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Ryan Eriquezzo
Ryan Eriquezzo

A player in middle position opened to 4,500 and was called by an opponent in the hijack. Ryan Eriquezzo three-bet from the cutoff to 18,500 and only the initial raiser called to see the {a-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop.

Both players checked and an {8-Diamonds} landed on the turn. The middle position player bet 2,500, Eriquezzo called and the {a-Hearts} completed the board.

A bet of 4,400 came from Eriquezzo's opponent and Eriqeuzzo bumped it up to 27,500. His opponent took a moment but in the end, they let their hand go into the muck, shipping the pot to the two-time GCC winner.

Short Seeks Redemption One Year Later

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante
Chris Short
Chris Short

Chris Short made the final table of this event last year, during the 2018 BPO, eventually finishing 7th for $33,571.

His exit took a bad beat, as he got his last chips in on the turn with a queen-high board, holding pocket kings against a player with ace-queen and only five outs.

A third queen still appeared on the river, giving his opponent trips and the pot. Short came up short of the title, but left with his lifetime best live cash.

Almighty Stack Flight E Launching at 10 a.m.!

The 2019 Borgata Poker Open $350+$50 Almighty Stack NLH event continues at 10 a.m. with the fifth of six starting flights. The sixth and final flight, Day 1f, is set to get underway later at 6 p.m. local time.

Players begin with an Almighty starting stack of 100,000 in chips. Late registration and re-entries will remain open in each flight until the start of Level 13 (about 4:45 p.m. for Flight E). The plan for each flight is to play through seventeen 30-minute levels, then bag up for the night. This is a best stack forward event, so players who have bagged chips in a previous level can opt to play again. If they bag more than once, they will take only their best stack into Day 2 on Friday at 12 p.m.
