Sarcone Sent Out, Final Nine Redraw

Level 19 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

James Sarcone was felted in 10th place, prompting the redraw to the final table of nine. This also means it is bubble-time. The next player eliminated will miss the money.

Sandra Demaskey

The final nine players have settled in for some serious poker. No one wants to bust on the bubble.

The lone remaining female, Sandra Demaskey, has taken the chip lead with 255,000. Barry Levy is close behind after dragging a Seven Card Stud 8 pot with a bet on fifth street, forcing Sandra to fold and showing a made low and wheel draw.

Dudley Takes From Basilicata, Who Takes From Demaskey

Level 20 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante
Vincent Basilicata
Vincent Basilicata

Andrew Dudley scooped a Stud 8 pot from Vincent Basilicata, chipping up to 210,000 in the process. Basilicata was left with about 90,000.

Then Basilicata got involved with chip leader Sandra Demaskey and at the river, their hands were

Vincent Basilicata: {2-Spades}{4-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}
Sandra Demaskey: {j-Hearts}{5-Spades}{7-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

Demaskey had three Aces in the hole and no qualifying low. Basilicata tabled {j-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} for the full house, recovering nicely to 165,000. Demaskey's stack slipped to 180,000 and she surrendered the chip lead.

Stevens Still Surviving

Matthew Stevens
Matthew Stevens

Playing Omaha/8:

Matt Stevens was all-in for the small blind a short while ago, survived the hand, and got a breather once he reached the button.

He was soon all-in again holding {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and got action from Lonnie Heimowitz in the big blind, who had {k-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}. The board fell {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{4-Hearts} giving Stevens Aces-up and the double-up, and a little more breathing room.

Stevens Bubbles, Heimowitz Takes 8th in Double Elimination

Playing Stud/8:

Short-stack Matt Stevens was all-in with side-pot action between Rolf Andersen and Lonnie Heimowitz. Rolf continued to check/call bets from Lonnie as the cards were delivered:

Matt Stevens: {5-Spades}{5-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Rolf Andersen: {8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}
Lonnie Heimowitz: {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

After the river card was delivered, Andersen again checked and Heimowitz bet his last 27,000, which Andersen called.

Stevens tabled {7-Spades}{2-Spades}{6-Hearts} and had missed both ways, ending up with just a pair of fives.

Heimowitz confidently tabled {a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for the diamond flush, only to see the bad news when Andersen rolled over {j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} for the full house. He scooped it all, chipping up to 485,000 and a huge chip lead on the table.

Stevens was eliminated ninth for $0, while Heimowitz earned $663 for his eighth-place finish.

One more hand and it was finally break time. The remaining seven players are enjoying their first break of the day.
