Event #9: $300 Deepest Stack NLH

Day 1b Started

Flight B of the 2019 BPO Event #9: $300 Deepest Stack NLH About to Get Underway

Defending champ Eric Rowan

The 2019 Borgata Poker Open continues tonight with the second and final flight in Event #9: $300 Deepest Stack NLH, which offers a $200K GTD. Flight A is also playing out right now and you can follow the action for that right here. The survivors from both flights will then return for Day 2 at noon local time on Tuesday to play down to a winner.

Last year, this tournament cruised by its $200,000 guarantee by drawing 930 runners, which generated a $241,800 prize pool. A three-way deal was struck that saw Eric Rowan claim the title and $40,387 in prize money.

Players will start with 40,000 in tournament chips and levels will last 30 minutes throughout. Late registration and re-entry will remain open through the end of the break after Level 12. Play will come to an end after Level 16.

Garasshen Scores First Knockout of Flight B

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante
Kevin Garasshen
Kevin Garasshen

It didn't take long for the first player to bust from Flight B. Just minutes into the day Kevin Garasshen and an unknown player tangled in a pot.

We missed it as it happened, but Garasshen was kind enough to fill us in on some details. As he told it, there was a four-bet preflop, he held {a-}{k-}, and the flop came down {a-}{j-}{3-}.

There was some action which only intensified on the {7-} turn and {8-} river. Eventually, the chips went in and Garasshen tabled his hand. His opponent sent his hand to the muck unseen and made a beeline for the door.

WSOP Bracelet Winner Cracks Kings to Double

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante
Michael Wang
Michael Wang

There was around 9,000 in the pot on a {8-Spades}{10-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop when Michael Wang, who back in 2015 won World Series of Poker Event #2: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em for $466,120 and a gold bracelet, got his stack of 32,900 all in against an opponent.

Wang: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Opponent: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

Wang was behind but held a spade flush draw to go with his one over. The {7-Clubs} turn was a brick for Wang, but the {7-Spades} that followed was exactly what he was looking for as he made the flush to earn a Level 1 double up.
