Phillips Flops Huge, Mermelstein Turns Bigger

Level 21 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Aaron Mermelstein opened to 35,000 from the cutoff and directly on his left was Tyler Phillips who three-bet to 105,000. Mermelstein quickly shoved for 750,000 and Phillips slammed in a stack as he snap-called the all-in, putting Mermelstein at risk.

Aaron Mermelstein: {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Tyler Phillips: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}

The dealer fanned out {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{5-Spades} on the flop, giving Phillips a set of cowboys. A very fortuitous card peeled off on the turn for Mermelstein when the dealer flipped over a {q-Clubs}, hitting Mermelstein with a straight as he overtook the lead.

The river came down a {9-Hearts}, cementing the pot for Mermelstein who grabbed a complete double through Phillips thanks to a lucky turn card.

Sacks Takes Everything from Gaspard

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Aaron Sacks three-barrelled on a {10-}{9-}{4-}{3-}{q-} board with {a-}{a-} and found a caller in Jean Gaspard who held {j-}{10-}. Sacks took down the pot with his overpair and left Gaspard with just 30,000 in the process.

On the very next hand Gaspard moved all in for his remaining 30,000 and Sacks called, putting Gaspard at risk.

Jean Gaspard: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Aaron Sacks: {10-Spades}{6-Spades}

The board ran out {8-Spades}{6-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Spades} and Sacks rivered a flush to take down the pot. Sacks' rivered flush took down the pot and sent Gaspard out the door.
