Kachittavong Looking Kalm in Early Play

Level 4 : 200/300, 300 ante
Soukha Kachittavong
Soukha Kachittavong

Soukha Kachittavong has more than $1.5 million in reported tournament earnings, so it's no wonder he's looking cool, calm, and collected here early in Flight D.

He was also part of a seven-way chop that ended this event during last November's Fall Poker Open, taking first place and more than $87,000. Kachittavong took first place ($127,637) in the 2017 Spring Poker Open Kick-Off as well, making him one of few players to win an Open Series Kick-Off twice. That remains his best live cash.

He does most of his winning in Connecticut casinos, but he's also taken down two Borgata DeepStacks Challenge events, giving him a total of four Borgata titles. Could this be number five? We won't know until Saturday when this event concludes, but first he's got to make it through 15 levels today and get chips in a bag.

End of Level 4 and time for the first break of the day.

Eric Siegel brought his own healthy snack so he will avoid the rush of players hitting up the table-side food court during the break.

Hawkins Busted, But Will Return

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

Maurice Hawkins was short-stacked and got his last chips in with {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades} on a flop of {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{6-Clubs}. His opponent's {a-Clubs}{2-Spades} was ahead and Hawkins' gutshot failed to appear. He was busted, but will assuredly return soon with a fresh 25,000 stack.

Here's an assortment of other chip counts from the back of the Event Center.

Best Initials for Poker Players

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante
Anna Antimony, Anthony Anastasi & Adam Agaev
Anna Antimony, Anthony Anastasi & Adam Agaev

Over near the Event Center entrance, quite a hike from our Media area, we found some of our favorite players.

Anna Antimony (sb) was involved in a battle of the blinds and checked the river on a 9-high board. The big blind checked, behind, showing {j-}{9-} for top pair. Her {a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} had him out-kicked and the three-time Borgata titleist took the pot.

At a nearby table sits Anthony Anastasi, a fellow Capricorn who celebrated his birthday (elsewhere) yesterday. He's back on the felt today after failing to bag in Flight A Tuesday. He's got one Borgata title from the 2015 BPO in the Turbo NLH post-lim.

Also in the low-numbered tables is Adam Agaev, a long-time Borgata regular with one title from the 2011 Spring Poker Open.

Aside from winning tournaments here at Borgata what do these three players have in common? The coolest initials a poker player can have: AA!
