Matthew Emmel vs Arian Stolt
Matthew Emmel vs Arian Stolt

The board read {j-Spades}{a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{7-Spades}{a-Diamonds} with 9,000 in the middle.

Arian Stolt shoved for 15,500 and Matthew Emmel had the same exact stack. He considered what to do for a while and then made the call. Stolt sighed and tabled {4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for the bluff. Emmel quickly showed {a-Spades}{10-Spades} for trip aces to claim the third and final game of this heads-up match to advance to the semi-final.

Stolt made his way to the payout desk to collect $8,439.

Forbes Makes it One-One

David Forbes
David Forbes

The flop read {j-Hearts}{q-Spades}{4-Clubs} and Sandeep Pulusani had bet 1,600. David Forbes shoved to put Pulusani at risk who ended up calling for the 7,200 he had behind.

Sandeep Pulusani: {j-Clubs}{2-Hearts}
David Forbes: {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

Pulusani had flopped a pair of jacks but Forbes had two pair. Pulusani needed running deuces to stay in the game but the river completed the board with the {9-Clubs} and {9-Hearts} instead.

One-one and both players took a quick break before resuming play.

Stacks Evening Out

Sandeep Pulusani raised to 800 from the button and David Forbes three-bet to 1,800 which Pulusani called.

They both checked through the {5-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{a-Hearts} flop and the {3-Hearts} on the turn to the {8-Clubs} on the river. Forbes bet 2,000 and Pulusani called.

"Queen," Forbes said.

Pulusani tabled {8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} for the rivered two pair.

Forbes laughed: "It's my own fault..." before showing he held {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} for the pair of queens indeed.
