With the elimination of Shadrach Tercy in fifth in Event #16: $400 Saturday Series Deepstack, the final four players began to discuss an adjusted payout deal.

The stacks were counted down and after a bit of negotiation, a deal was struck as the clock struck 5:00 a.m. in the Event Center.

Peter Sennon, who was holding the chip lead at the time of the deal, took first place earning $39,422 and his second Borgata Poker Open trophy.

Sennon caught fire with two tables left and he was a one-man wrecking crew at the final table sending player after player to the rail.

Florida tournament pro Rafael Reis finished as the Saturday Series runner-up earning $31,971 for his second-place finish.

Paul Weinberger earned $27,785 for his third-place finish and Borgata fan-favorite Rick Ruffman took home $22,249 for his fourth-place finish.

Rafael Reis
Rafael Reis

We mentioned in the previous post that Rafael Reis was chipping up and he just scooped a massive pot. Reis is now sitting behind a massive stack of 2,500,000 and he has moved into the chip lead with 22 players remaining.

Reis already holds one Borgata Poker title and is looking to add a second to his growing poker resume. A win here tonight would also earn Reis another poker milestone as the $55,100 first prize would bring his career earnings over the $1,000,000 mark.

Today's first one-day trophy event is another $400 Saturday Series Deep Stack! Players get a 25,000-chip Deep Stack and all levels are 30 minutes long.

The $100,000 guarantee on this event always brings out a big crowd and today should be no different. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are allowed until the start of level 11 (about 4:45pm). Play will continue until a winner is determined and another Borgata Open trophy finds a new home.

Last year, this event saw 639 entries creating a prize pool of nearly $217,000, more than doubling the guarantee. The final 63 players earned a share and it played to completion, which took until about 6am Sunday morning. Soheb Porbandarwala bested Andrew Kim in a short heads-up match, taking first place and $52,081 for his efforts. Kim earned $29,287 for his runner-up finish.
