The Cash Game Festival Dublin is about to begin at the Village Green Card Club, for five days of nonstop cash game poker on Oct. 11-15.

To say the Cash Game Festival has been a huge success thus far is an understatement. Last year, the tour left its roots in Tallinn, Estonia before embarking on an international tour for the first time with five stops. This has increased to nine festivals this year with seven already in the books including previous stops at Aspers Casino Westfield Stratford City in February and September, Perla Casino in Slovenia in March, Olympic Park Casino in April, Sunborn Casino in Gibraltar in May, Casino Malta by Olympic Casino in June and Platinum Casino in Sunny Beach, Bulgaria in August.

Each day, the Cash Game Festival will host the two televised feature tables twice per day at 6 p.m. BST and 9 p.m BST. broadcasted on a 20-minute delay at the Cash Game Festival Twitch channel. You can alternatively follow the action by clicking on the Live Stream tab that will be in our PokerNews coverage once the action is live. Today's early table features €1/€2 no-limit hold'em before moving up the ladder to €2/€5 no-limit hold'em for the later feature table.

The action will also be hot away from the table with festival organizers arranging plenty of fun activities for those with the hospitality package. This afternoon, many of the regular players on the tour have messaged in that they have arrived in Dublin and are enjoying some of the pleasures the Irish capital has to offer before hitting the tables later in the day.

The Cash Game Festival Dublin officially kicks off at 5 p.m. BST with welcome drinks. Stayed tuned to PokerNews as we cover the festival from start to finish.

Welcome drinks are currently being set-up. In Irish-style, instead of the usual champagne, the Cash Game Festival will be serving Guinness to kick off the Cash Game Festival Dublin at the Village Green Card Room.

Cash Game Festival Tournaments Make Their Debut

For the first time, a cash game tournament will be hosted at the Cash Game Festival.

How it works is easy. Players buy-in for €50 and can re-enter once for another €50. Blind levels increase every 30 minutes as so:

  • Level 1 €0.50/€1
  • Level 2 €1/€1
  • Level 3 €1/€2

After Level 3 players are allowed to cash out. As a perk for players to start early, players that enter before the end of Level 1 will be generously awarded a €25 bonus.

Today's cash game tournament is scheduled to begin as soon as the welcome drinks ceremony is completed. During the rest of the Cash Game Festival, the tournaments are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.

The first feature table has just begun with stakes at €1/€2 no-limit hold'em. Among the players at the table are Scott and Lisa Roberts, who are husband and wife.

The duo live in Atlanta, Georgia and was traveling around Europe before heading to Dublin. After learning about the Cash Game Festival, they decided to see what it was all about and will compete against each other and other players at the feature table.

Also on the table is Cash Game Festival regular Karolis from Lithuania. Karolis will also be competing on the later €2/€5 no-limit hold'em feature table.

As a special treat, Cash Game Festival Co-Founder Martin "Franke" von Zweigbergk will be commentating the stream. Yuu can check out all of the action on a 20-minute delay at the Cash Game Festival Twitch channel or by clicking on the Live Stream tab that will be in our PokerNews coverage once the action is live.

Two Table Cash Game Tournament

The first Cash Game tournament at a Cash Game Festival has made its debut with two tables running. Players can late-enter, however, if they do so before the end of the first blind level they will receive a €25-denominated green-chip to add to their stack in play.

Sascha Koal Had Fun Despite an Early Elimination

Germany's Sascha Koal came to Dublin after learning about the Cash Game Festival through watching feature tables on the stream. He will have his chance shortly to appear on the later £2/£5 feature table.

When Koal learned about the cash game tournament, he decided to give it a go before hopping into the later action. Unfortunately for him, he was the first player eliminated.

Koal has been enjoying a few pints of Guinness since moving away from the table and seemed to be in great spirits."

"The cash game tournament was fun, especially for €50," said Koal.

Koal will stay in Dublin until Sunday and PokerNews will interview him about his first Cash Game Festival experience later on in the festival.

Feature Table Contest!

During the last Cash Game Festival at Aspers Casino in London, the organizers introduced a feature table contest where the player that won the most big blinds at any of the 10 televised feature tables won a commemorative trophy and a Cash Game Festival hospitality package for two valued at €400.

Nordicbet qualifier Jon Kyte from Norway, was the big winner after walking away with a profit of £4,265 or 853 big blinds at a £2/£5 no-limit hold'em feature table.

The contest proved to be a huge success and will repeat for the 2017 Cash Game Festival Dublin and likely be a staple for all future Cash Game Festivals.

Four Tables in Action

The cash game tournament tables have been converted into €1/€2 no-limit hold'em tables. Most of the players that were in the tournament remained with a few new players joining them.

In total, there are now four €1/€2 no-limit hold'em tables. This is one shy of the Village Green Card Club record of five tables, which is likely to be shattered during the festival multiple times.
