Winter Poker Open PLO Championship: Final Flight Today at 4 p.m.!

The last of three opening days in the Champions Club Winter Poker Open $1,100 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship is set to go Wednesday evening here in Space City.

Through the first two opening flights over the weekend, 15 players have advanced to Tuesday’s final day of action which will award the $150,000 guaranteed prize pool to those survivors. The final 12% of Monday’s Day 1C will join them.

Thus far, just over two-thirds of that prize pool has been built with 119 entries over the first two days of play, and another solid turnout, Wednesday will send it past the guarantee.

Ethan Bennett of Day 1a still sits in the lead with his impressive 700,000 stack, but last night's leader Nan Liu is close on his tail with 672,000.

As with the first two flights, play is scheduled to get underway at 4 p.m. local time with blinds of 100/100 and 40,000 starting chips. Levels will be 30-minutes long with a 15-minute break scheduled every four levels.

Registration and re-entry remain open until the start of Level 9 at approximately 8:30 p.m. Final prize pool and payout details will be available once play is completed, along with the Day 2 seat draw.

Stay with PokerNews as this exciting and prestigious event continues with live reporting from the floor and right through the live-streamed final table on Tuesday here at Champions Club Texas.

Banks Barrels Three Streets

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 100 ante

After an open from Jignesh 'Jake' Patel to 600 and a call from Carl Masters and Ike Nlemchi, LaDarren Banks three-bet to 2,000 from the small blind. The big blind folded while all three opponents made the call to see a flop of J108.

Banks tossed out another bet of 2,000 and was called by Patel and Nlemchi to continue to the turn 10, pairing the board.

This time Banks upped the bet a bit to 5,500 and only Nlemchi came along to the river 7.

"Pot!" Banks announced and tossed out 23,300 which sent Nlemchi into the tank. After almost a minute, he decided to fold and the pot was shipped to Banks.

Compton Fills Up

Level 3 : Blinds 200/300, 100 ante

Ian Greendale opened under-the-gun and was called by five players to see a flop of 323.

The action then checked around to John Compton who bet 1,500 and was called by Caleb Shumard to continue to the turn 10. All three players decided to check to the river Q, which saw a bet from Compton and a call from Greendale.

Compton then showed Q3KJ for a rivered full house and Greendale mucked his hand.
