Wilkie Climbing Back Near Six Figures

Level 5 : 150/300, 300 ante

Steve Wilkie had appeared to lost a relatively small amount of chips before getting involved in a recent pot.

Terry Harper limped in from early position and a player in middle position limped behind. The hijack then pumped it up to 1,500. Steve Wilkie called on the button and both Harper and the other limper stuck around.

The flop fell {3-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{j-Spades} and action checked to Wilkie , who bet 4,000 and received three folds in short succession to bring him back to around 98,000 in chips.

Pupillo Goes To Value Town

Level 5 : 150/300, 300 ante
Nick Pupillo
Nick Pupillo

Four players went to a flop of {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{5-Hearts} with just shy of 30,000 in the pot from preflop action. The small blind checked, putting action onto Nick Pupillo, who was in middle position and also checked. Next to act was Joe Bartholdi and he checked to the cutoff, who was the final player in the hand and bet 15,000.

The small blind quickly folded and action was then back on Pupillo, who put out chips to call. Bartholdi folded to take action heads up to the turn {7-Clubs}. Pupillo checked again and his opponent checked behind.

The river fell {q-Hearts} and Pupillo asked to see his opponent's stack. He then threw out a bet of 15,000, just shy of an effective all-in bet. The cutoff thought for a bit and then verbalized a call.

Pupillo tabled {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} for a flopped set of aces and raked in the massive pot, bringing him up near the top of the leader board as Level 5 comes to a close.

Gonzales Doubles Through Verbeck

Level 6 : 200/400, 400 ante
Danny Gonzales
Danny Gonzales

Joel Verbeck was heard announcing a reraise all in from early position and Danny Gonzales was happy to commit his remaining 14,600 from the small blind.

Joel Verbeck: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Danny Gonzales: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}

Verbeck found his ace-queen up against the pocket aces of Gonzales and was in need of some serious help in order to avoid doubling up Gonzales. The flop came {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{2-Hearts} to give him three outs at Broadway, but Gonzales remained on top as the turn {4-Diamonds} and river {3-Clubs} hit the felt.

Field Surpasses 300

Level 6 : 200/400, 400 ante

With 130 entries on the clock, the field size has officially hit the 300-entry mark. There is also still around three hours of late registration left to see that number continue to climb.

Sagner Cold Five-Bets Preflop

Level 6 : 200/400, 400 ante

A player raised to 800 from under the gun and was three-bet to 2,100 from another player in middle position. Action folded around to the small blind, who cold four-bet to 6,500.

Maurice Sagner was in the big blind facing three raises in front of him and after a few moments of thought, announced another raise. He put in a cold five-bet to 22,000 and the original raiser and three-bettor both quickly folded.

The small blind went into the tank for over two minutes before verbally announcing a fold and tossing his cards to the muck.

"I had a hand," he added as the pot was sent Sagner's way to bring him north of six figures.
