Did Mattila Have Two Pair?

Jussi Mattila has been having fun at the table joking around with his opponents. He has also been growing his chip stack at the same time which is maybe why he is in a good mood.

In a recent hand, Rauno Tahvonen opened to 6,500 from early position before Matilla three-bet to 17,500 from late position. Tahvonen called and the came on the flop.

Mattila bet 14,500 and Tahvonen called.

Mattila bet 44,500 after the appeared on the turn. Tahvonen tanked for a few minutes before the Mattila called for the clock.

A floor person came over and asked the dealer if a reasonable time passed and she said it has been about four minutes. The countdown began and Tahvonen eventually folded with less than 15 seconds remaining.

"I had two pair," said Mattila.

A player asked him to show his cards.

"I can't do that," said Mattila. "Next time you might call."

Mattila then offered to show one card but the rest of the table was ready for the next hand to begin.
