Volov Wins a Massive Pot in a Blind vs. Blind Flip

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Coolbet Open

Tauri Taimre opened to 1,200 from the small blind. Vladimir Volov three-bet to 3,500 from the big blind before Taimre four-bet to 10,000.

Volov five-bet to 26,000 and Taimre paused for less than a minute before he six-bet jammed for about 77,000. Volov, who barely had his opponent covered, made the call.

Tauri Taimre: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Vladimir Volov: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}

It was a classic flip situation with Volov slightly ahead before the flop. The {10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{q-Clubs} flop didn't pair Taimre but did give him two more outs for a potential gutshot broadway straight draw.

The {6-Diamonds} on the turn and the {q-Diamonds} on the river were both safe cards for Volov and he doubled up to a huge stack of around 160,000. Meanwhile, Taimre shook his head on the way out in what could have been if he instead won the hand.

Former Coolbet Open Main Event Champion Albertsen Doubles

Mats Albertsen

Nils Harstad shoved his massive stack of more than 150,000 that more than covered his opponent Mats Albertsen's stack of around 30,000 with the {3-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{6-Clubs} on the board and about 40,000 splashed in the pot.

Albertsen made the snap call and turned over {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}. Harstad turned over {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} and needed a two-outer to eliminate his opponent.

The {7-Spades} completed the board on the river and Albertsen doubled up to about 100,000 in chips.

Coolbet Open

The big board is reading 285 entrants on Day 1b thus far making it 415 total with late registration still open when taking into account the 130 entrants that registered on Day 1a.

The number is inching ever so closer the 491 entrants the Coolbet Open attracted in October on its two opening flights.

Nut Blocker No Good for Stavne

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Ole Edvin Stavne jammed more than enough to cover the about 30,000 his opponent Pekka Aulis Kristian Virtanen had behind with the {9-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{q-Spades}{3-Diamonds} on the board and about 40,000 splashed in the pot.

Virtanen made the snap call and Stavne turned over {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}. Virtanen turned over {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for the flush to take the pot.

"Jammed with the nut blocker," said someone at the table.

"It's all in good fun," said Starvne.
