Day 1 Started
Greetings from beautiful Southern California! We are coming to you live from the Commerce Casino, and we are ready to bring you live coverage of the DeepStacks Poker Tour Breeders’ Cup Celebrity Invitational. Today, we have a $200 buy-in event, with rebuys, with a portion of the prize pool going to CARMA charity group.
We saw a few familiar faces in the poker world here who are here repping the Deepstacks Poker Tour name, including Karina Jett, Mark Newhouse, Jason Lee, David Baker, Ray Henson, and Tristian Wade. In addition, the event is being hosted by Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi, and Mike “The Mouth” Matusow. There is a feature table set up, which is being streamed live on the internet at deepstacks.com/breederscup.
The players are in the room, enjoying a cocktail hour at the moment. The cards are due to be in the air at 7, and we expect the tournament to last about three or four hours. Be sure to stay tuned to the whole thing here, at Pokernews.com!
Most of the players are in the room now, and shortly, they will begin taking their seats. Before they do, here are a few notes on tonight's structure.
Players are starting with 5,000 in chips, and the blinds will be at 100-100. The first four levels will be twenty minutes each, and players can have unlimited rebuys for $100 each for the first four levels as long as they are under the 5,000 chip mark. The rebuy will be worth 2,500 more chips.
After the first four levels, the rebuy period will close, and the levels will move to 15 minutes each. From there, we will play down to a winner!
There are still a few things being sorted out at the moment, as the players have yet to take their seats. We will let you know when we are getting started as soon as we find out.
Title says it all. The players have been informed to take their seats, and the cards should be in the air momentarily.

Well it's pretty clear that the players will be taking full advantage of their rebuy option. We've already heard the "rebuy" cry from three different dealers, one of them being from the featured table. We walked over, and saw that Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi was raking in a pot for an early double stack.
We didn't catch the action, but we saw that Mizrachi had on a board that read . His two pair was better then his opponents , and Mizrachi is quickly up to 10,000.

So far, Michael Mizrachi has easily been the most active big name in the tournament, playing every hand that we've seen the table play. He just forced another player to reach into their pocket for a rebuy, as he has upped his stack to 15,000 early.
The money was already in the middle when we got to the table, on a flop of . Mizrachi's was drawing very live against his opponent's , but the on the turn brought no help. However, the spiked on the river, and Mizrachi collected another nice pot.
