When Shorties Attack

No, don't worry, the Oompa-Loompas haven't turned on Willy Wonka, I'm talking about the short stacks here in Barcelona. One of those is Fowzi Baroukh. With one player limping in the cutoff, he made it 11,000 from the small blind. After his foe called, both players saw a flop of {J-Spades}{2-Hearts}{4-Hearts}, where Baroukh led out for another 11,000. After much deliberation, his opponent made the fold, allowing Baroukh to collect the pot and recompile a now-50,000 stack.

Another short stack is heading in a similar direction, Michael Greco's start-of-the-day stack of 7,700 now reaching the dizzy nose-bleeding heights of 80,000.

Other short stacks, however, are finding life somewhat harder, as Petre Ionescu, Simone Coppari and Stavros Kalfas are all at the wrong end of the spectrum with 24,000, 17,000 and 24,000 respectively.
