Makhija Dominated But Doubles

Alexander Morozov had recently folded to a few three-bet raises pre-flop, so after his 14,000 chip was once again raised all in by Amit Makhija, he felt like he needed to make a stand.

"I had this hand last time and I folded, but this time I think I should call," pondered Morozov. The bet was 89,000 in total and eventually Morozov went with his read and made the call, flipping {A-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. Makhija showed {A-Spades}{8-Hearts} and was in trouble.

However the flop came {A-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and Makhija made a miraculous two pair to out-flop Morozov. The turn was the {4-Hearts} and river {9-Hearts}, and Morozov took an ugly hit as Makhija doubled to close to 200,000 in chips.

Table Rebalancing

Raymond Rahme has just been moved to the direct right of Henrik Gwinner on a table which also features fellow PokerStars.com professional Luca Pagano.

47 players remain and we'll be playing through tonight until there are only 40 left.

Antonio's a Raising Machine

Antonio and his monster stack
Antonio and his monster stack
Chip leader Antonio Esfandiari continues to wield his big stack at his table, constantly putting pressure on his opponents and getting involved in a lot of pots. Fellow big stack Oyvind Riisem was just moved into the empty seat on Esfandiari's right and one can only wonder when these two highly aggressive players will tangle with each other.

Hachem Takes A Hit

Joe Hachem has just lost a large portion of his stack in a hand against Jonathan Dwek. Hachem flopped a straight but Dwek flopped a flush! The board paired to slow both players down and Hachem avoided losing his whole stack, much to his relief.

"That hand was meant to bust me!" exclaimed Hachem to his entourage on the rail. He is still sitting comfortably with around 170,000 in chips.
