"Hey! Hey! You! You! I could be your girlfriend!"

Stewart Chantler and his portable stereo
Stewart Chantler and his portable stereo
You've seen Greg Raymer's lizard glasses, Humberto Brenes' light-up sharks and you've heard Mike Matusow's famed mouth - all gimmicks intended to get in the heads of opponents on the felt.

Allow me to introduce you to Stewart Chantler of Toronto, Canada. Stewart has a small pair of headphones hung around his neck which are connected to a bright blue iPod. Nothing unusual about that, you say, but it's the sound blaring from the headphones that makes this situation bloggable.

From across the table - the room even - one can hear Stewart's music and it's quite an interesting choice: Avril Lavigne's "Girlfriend." Gimmick or not, Chantler has managed to get inside at least one head... unfortunately, it's mine.... "Hey! Hey! You! You! I know that you like me... No way! No Way! No it's not a secret..."

Climber of the Day:

Julian Thew
Julian Thew
Usually this post would come a bit later in the day but Julian Thew has managed to get back from his low of 700 chips up to 10,500. The biggest pot was doubling from 3,000 to 6,000 when his AK outraced TT.

Honeybone Spikes Two-Outer; Cripples Henriksson

Anders Henriksson
Anders Henriksson
New Zealander James Honeybone let out a miserable grunt after seeing that his pocket kings were well dominated against the pocket aces of T6 pro Anders Henriksson in a pre-flop all-in confrontation.

Fortunately for Honeybone, a merciful king on the river gave him new life in the tournament and hoisted him to the top of the leaderboard with just over 26,000 in chips.

Henriksson fell to 650 after taking the hit and is now on life support with the blinds at 100-200.

Gino Alacqua Starts Well

Popular Italian Gino Alacqua has gotten off to a good start as he tries to go one better than his runner-up placing at EPT Prague. He has steadily climbed up to 17,000 chips in the first few levels.

Cooler Alert!

Two players get it all in on the river of a {4-Spades}{2-Spades}{K-Spades}{J-Clubs}{J-Hearts} board. The player who moved all in was pretty confident when he instantly flipped {K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} but he was behind his opponent's {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} and left with just a few chips after a cooler of a hand.

Table Talk

Woody Deck in reference to a friend on the rail: "I'm teaching him how to play..."

Woody's friend: "...and I'm teaching him how to talk to women. They're both not working out."
