Don't mess with Maridu
Maridu Mayrinck, who has been bonding with Chris Ferguson over the subject of the latter's girlfriend who, like Mayrinck, is Brazilian -- that same Maridu Mayrinck raised to 25,000 under the gun, and it folded around to that same Chris Ferguson in the big blind who tentatively made the call.
They saw a flop and Ferguson checked it, and then swiftly folded to a 45,000 bet from Mayrinck, robbing us of any further entertainment. "My first big hand in ages," confessed Mayrinck. It's like Ferguson could tell.
Very famous in England
British footballing legend Teddy Sheringham is busto. He seems to have got his last in with against Rui Milhomens' in a short-stacked blind on blind confrontation. Milhomes hit a king for good measure, and it was a red card for Sheringham.
As he approached the payout table, the lady with the paying power clearly did not recognise him. "Hello, Mr, er, 409," she said, looking at his player ID card, "What's your surname?" Sheringham, said he. "Is that with a 'C'?"
Theo Tran raised to 27,000 preflop and Chris Ferguson moved all-in for around 200,000. Behind them, James Obst reraised all-in for about 300,000.
Tran thought for a moment but folded, before being slightly annoyed about folding his hand when Ferguson showed and Obst flipped .
The board came and Ferguson doubled through, crippling Obst in the process. Theo Tran walked away from the table, clearly having folded the best hand preflop.
Like, seriously
We found Maridu Mayrinck at the payout table looking glum.
It turns out her table was playing six-handed so she raised under the gun with but got three callers. They saw a flop and there was action between her and Theo Tran; the last of her chips went in on the turn and Tran turned over pocket sevens. No miracle on the river, and she was out.
"I mean, that's so sick," she was saying. "Who actually flops a set?"
Benny Spindler is our new huge chip leader with over 1,600,000 after getting into a huge pot against Lawrie Inman.
They saw an board before getting it in on the turn. Spindler held for two pair and the nut flush draw against Inman's weaker . No King or Queen on the blank river and the German is miles ahead of everyone else.
Sondre Horgmo is bust after his failed to spike against Michael Berry's pocket fives.
Berry may well have a big stack now, but we can't tell as all his chips are in a mass of very small and uneven stacks, messily sprawling out across the table in every direction. Must be an online player...
