I Want It All and I Want It Naujoks

Sandra Naujoks
Sandra Naujoks
A blind-on-blind raising war resulted in a gentleman we believe to be Laurent Alix moving all in from the small blind, and Sandra Naujoks in the big blind calling, to some 'ooohs' from the rail.

Alix: {5-Spades} {5-Hearts}
Naujoks: {Q-Diamonds} {J-Hearts}

Board: {K-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {A-Spades} {J-Diamonds} {K-Spades}

Out went Mr. Alix, and Naujoks, looking terribly innocent as she raked in the pot, moved up to around 140,000.

Bulgarian Watch: Part Two

By his complete absence from the card room, we are hazarding a guess that Atanas Gueorguiev is busto.

Alexander Milanov, on the other hand, seems to have enjoyed a reversal of fortune - he's up to 38,000 from the 16,500 we counted him with earlier.

Brit Comeback

Toby Lewis seemed to be having a rather poor start - after starting the day on around 50,000, he first sunk down to perhaps half that number, before suddenly veering back in the other direction while nobody was looking. He's right now up to a very comfortable 90,000.

Also having a lovely day is Priyan Demel. After starting with 75,000 or so, he's rocketed right up to 160,000, and is now expressing regret that he's going to have to wait until tomorrow to make the money. Feeling confident, then.

Double Double Your Refreshment

Priyan Demel opened with an under-the-gun raise to 3,000, and he found action in three places.

The flop brought {7-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} and a leading bet from Demel. He fired 8,000 at the pot, and Alain Roy made the call two seats over. Juha Lauttamus then stuck in a raise to 17,400. That was enough to fold the fourth player in the hand, but Demel quickly called. The action was back on Roy, and he moved all in for 24,400 total. Both opponents called, and Roy was at risk going to the turn.

It paired the board with the {8-Spades}, and Demel moved all in with his covering stack. Lauttamus made the call for his own tournament life, and two players were now in jeopardy as the cards were turned up:

Demel: {K-Clubs} {K-Diamonds}
Roy: {9-Clubs} {10-Clubs}
Lauttamus: {9-Hearts} {10-Hearts}

Both Roy and Lauttamus had flopped the nuts, and Roy was almost freerolling to the straight flush. The two of them would need to dodge a king or an eight to stay alive, and the river was the {5-Spades} -- safe. Demel doubles up both opponents, and he's now shorter than both.

Halfway Home

We've just ticked under 300 players remaining. In fact, with the big board showing 293 runners left, we've lost exactly half of the starting field.

A Stroke of Luc

There was 50,000 in the pot by the river of the {3-Spades} {2-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {K-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} board, which Luc "Brother Of Max" Greenwood checked. His opponent bet 21,300, and Greenwood spent some good time tanking up before passing.

No feeling sorry for him, though - at 140,000, he's still up there in big stack territory.

Relander Relegated

Rikard Relander is bust.

He got it in good with {K-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} against his opponent's {A-Diamonds} {10-Clubs}, but the board came out {9-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {8-Hearts} to send him home early.

"I would like to say I'm sorry," said his opponent, "But..."

Recount!

Apparently the aforementioned 'big board' hadn't been updated in quite some time. It just ticked down to 225 players, and that seems to make more sense considering the plethora of tables that have already been broken.

Big Stack Watch

Jude Ainsworth - 220,000
ElkY - 185,000
Anthony Roux - 205,000
Jerome Zerbib - 200,000
Gustav Ekerot - 215,000
Manuel Bevand - 185,000

Marc Gork's outfit has not helped him any, and he's dropped to 130,000.
