Hansen Takes a Hit

Hansen sees he's beat
Hansen sees he's beat
With the board showing {Q-Spades}{K-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and about 5,000 already in the middle, Alexander Shestakov bet 3,000 and after some deliberation Gus Hansen made the call.

The river then brought the {10-Hearts} and a bet of 6,000 from Shestakov. Hansen riffled through his chips, eyes wide. "Well, well, well," he said aloud, then once more to himself. Finally, after two minutes of study, Hansen made the call.

Shestakov turned over {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} for the nut flush. "That... is... the best hand," said Hansen with a wry grin as he mucked his cards.

Shestakov moves up to 46,000 after that one, while Hansen takes a hit to knock him back to 19,000.
