MacPhee Doesn't Have to Show

From the button, Kevin MacPhee raised to 260,000 and Ilari Tahkokallio called. The flop cam down {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{7-Hearts} and Tahkokallio checked. MacPhee fired 320,000 and Tahkokallio called.

The turn went check, check after the {5-Clubs} fell. The {10-Spades} completed the board on the river and Tahkokallio fired 410,000. After some pause, MacPhee called. Tahkokallio mucked his hand without showing and MacPhee raked in the pot without having to show his hand.

MacPhee Stack Venti

Tahkokallio raised it up preflop and MacPhee made the call. They saw the traditional flop.

Flop: {5-Diamonds} {4-Spades} {6-Hearts}

MacPhee check-called a bet from Tahkokallio, and they proceeded.

Turn: {4-Clubs}

This time both players checked, and they got to see a river for free.

River: {A-Diamonds}

Now MacPhee bet out. Tahkokallio decided that he was beaten, and made the fold.

With that, MacPhee is up to over 20 million.

Floppin' Around

Kevin MacPhee raised to 350,000, and Ilari Tahkokallio called. {K-Spades} {7-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} on the flop, and Kevin bet out 380,000. That was enough to take the pot.

These two are seeing a lot of flops. Both are skilled players not afraid to play post-flop, and they're pretty deep for a heads up match. MacPhee has 128 big blinds and Tahkokallio still has room to maneuver with 51.

Big Pot Goes to Tahkokallio

Ilari Tahkokallio

Ilari Tahkokallio had the button and raised to 380,000. Kevin MacPhee called in the big blind. The flop came down {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and MacPhee checked. Tahkokallio fired 425,000 and then MacPhee jacked up the price of poker to 1.175 million. Tahkokallio made the call, bringing the pot to over three million.

The turn brought the {2-Clubs} and MacPhee checked. Tahkokallio studied for a minute and then fired 1.5 million. MacPhee mucked and Tahkokallio pulled in the pot.

Four-Bet

Kevin MacPhee raised to 350,00, and Ilari Tahkokallio reraised to 890,000. Not about to let Tahkokallio steal his move, MacPhee four-bet to 2.04 million. That was sufficient aggression to push Tahkokallio out of the pot, and even more chips get shipped in Kevin's directions.

Cookie Monster Crumbling

We've just seen the biggest heads up pot so far, and it's a doozie.

Flop: {10-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} - Kevin MacPhee bet out 160,000, and Ilari Tahkokallio called.

Turn: {Q-Spades} - MacPhee checked, and Tahkokallio tried to push him out with a 280,000 bet. Kevin called.

River: {5-Spades} - MacPhee took the lead again, betting a sizable 1.12 million. Then Tahkokallio busted out the big guns, reraising the river to 2.6 million. MacPhee looked like he didn't want to but made the call anyway. "Jack-high," said Ilari. Despite the flush and straight possibilities on the board, MacPhee's {6-?} {5-?} for two pair was good enough to scoop the giant pot.

MacPhee further extended his lead to 23 million while Tahkokallio fell to 5.3 million.

Chop, Chop

Ilari Tahkokallio raised from the button to 360,000 and Kevin MacPhee called from the big blind. The flop came down {9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{7-Hearts} and MacPhee checked. Tahkokallio fired 425,000 and MacPhee called.

The turn card added the {2-Diamonds} for the board. MacPhee checked again and Tahkokallio fired 680,000. MacPhee called and the pot grew to almost three million chips. Tahkokallio started the hand with about 5.5 million, so a good portion of his stack was in the middle as the river was dealt the {10-Spades}.

MacPhee checked and Tahkokallio looked like he was torn between checking or betting. Eventually, he just tapped the table and checked. Tahkokallio held the {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and MacPhee held {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. The two chopped it up and moved to the next hand.

Potential Action Evaporates into Small Pot for Tahkokallio

The hand started off pretty excitingly, as Ilari Tahkokallio raised to 380,000 and MacPhee asked him how much he had behind. However, MapPhee just flat-called, and they saw a flop.

The media room disappointment continued as they checked down the {Q-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} {10-Spades} flop and {6-Spades} turn, and when Tahkokallio bet 450,000 on the {K-Spades} river, MacPhee folded.

Quacking Up

A double up and a new man
A double up and a new man
Kevin MacPhee made a 380,000-chip stab at the {6-Clubs} {3-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} board. Ilari Tahkokallio moved all in for a total of 5.65 million, and MacPhee snap called.

Showdown
MacPhee: {K-Clubs} {4-Clubs} for a flush draw with a gutshot
Tahkokallio: {2-Clubs} {2-Hearts} for a set of ducks

The river was the blanktastic {8-Hearts}, and Tahkokallio doubled up to 11.62 million. MacPhee is still in the lead, albeit a much smaller one now, with 16.85 million.
