Kabrhel Gets Involved

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

The first level has been kinder to Martin Kabrhel than his expression might lead you to believe. A master of the perfectly-still dwell up, Kabrhel just won a tidy couple of thousand from an opponent who'd raised in early position. Kabrhel in the small blind was first seen leading out for 875 on a flop of {J-Hearts}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs}. His opponent raised to 1,800, prompting a brief think and call. The turn brought the {A-Hearts} and another bet out from Kabrhel - this time 2,875. Even with starting stacks of 30,000, that's a sizeable Level 1 bet, and after looking somewhat puzzled at the way this hand played out, the flop raiser finally let his hand go.

Brito Slips Up Then Wins Chips Back

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Current leader of the 2010 European Poker Tour Player of the Year, Portugal's Ferando Brito has just lost a few chips then immediately afterwards wins some of them straight back.

On a board reading {7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} Brito check-called a bet of 700 but both players checked the {8-Hearts} on the river. Brito shaped to turn his cards over but changed his mind as his opponent flipped over -5h4h] for a straight.

The very next hand Brito opened from under the gun and his opponent from the last hand, now sat in the hijack, made the call. The flop came down {2-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{5-Clubs}, Brito made a continuation bet of 550, which was enough to scoop the pot.

Mr Brito is now on exactly 30,000 chips, which incidentally is the starting stack of the players today

Almost There

The published noon start time has been and gone, but we're not quite at the shuffle-up-and-deal. However, dealers and players are appearing in the cardroom now, so we're hopeful that it'll be soon.

Welcome to Prague!

Hello and welcome to a rather cold Czech Republic for the 2010 European Poker Tour Prague. It may be a goosebump inducing minus five degrees outside the luxurious Hilton, but you can rest assured that the action at the tables today will be red hot.

A total of 49 tables have been available for the players today and as I type this the dealers are having their briefing and they're obviously happy about the fact as there has been cheering and applause!

A whole host of Team PokerStars pros are due to play today including Arnaud Mattern, Marcin Horecki and Martin Hruby who will be looking to impress here on home soil. Other notable players include 2010 EPT Berlin winner Kevin MacPhee, EPT Copenhagen champion Anton Wigg and Dominik Nitsche who made it deep at the recent EPT Barcelona.

Play is due to begin at 1200 noon local time so stay tuned for the very best in live poker tournament coverage.
