Good morning and welcome back to the Hilton where 93 players remain in the Main Event. Only 80 of them are going to get paid, so expect things to get emotional early doors.
Chip leader on 593,000 as we head into the day is Dirk Richter, the same man who topped the chip counts at the start of yesterday. In fact, Richter never once lost the chip lead yesterday - but the margin of that lead has shrunk considerably. Only just behind him now are EPT Copenhagen finalist Roberto Romanello on 566,000 and Antonio Palma on 545,000. EPT Berlin winner Kevin MacPhee is in fourth place with 483,000 and EPT 2005 Grand Final winner Rob Hollink is fifth with 452,000.
Also still in with a shot, albeit in possession of rather more modest stacks, are Tobias Reinkemeier, Toby Lewis, Salvatore Bonavena, Richard Toth, Dominik Nitsche, Fabrice Soulier and Marcin Horecki. Team PokerStars Pro Luca Pagano is also still in with slightly below average chips, and is looking good to beat his own record for EPT cashes before the day is out.
The plan is to play down to 24 runners today, and we've still got the bubble to go. Play is due to start at noon and we have a feeling they'll be running to schedule today - we understand that PokerStars is throwing a Christmas party tonight. Don't go anywhere.
