Nulli Up, Nulli Down

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Roberto Nulli has had a turbulent start to the level, finding his short stack boosted then halved in quick succession. He saw a heads-up flop with Ion Pavel of {2-Clubs}{6-Spades}{J-Hearts} and bet 35k. He was called, and the turn brought the {5-Spades}. Immediately Nulli moved in for around 200,000. He sat quietly for half a minute while Pavel considered, before suddenly announcing, "Jack! I have Jacks! Six-Jack. And you?"

This sped up the Pavel decision, as he said, "Fold," (but failed to release his cards until prompted twice by the dealer).

"I show," said Nulli- he turned up {J-Spades}{10-Spades}.

Shortly thereafter he doubled up Jean Sami Souleiman who'd moved in preflop for 62k. Nulli flat called his move with {A-Spades}{5-Diamonds}, ahead of Souleiman's {K-Clubs}{10-Spades} only until the {K-Hearts} came to save his tournament life.
