Schoenberg Freerolls To Victory

Erica Schoenberg raised preflop to 3,000 and flat-called a 3-bet of 7,700 from the Alessio Nardone in the blinds with about 28,000 behind.

The flop was {Q-Spades} {J-Hearts} {10-Hearts} and Nardone open-shoved with Schoenberg quickly calling for her stack.

Nardone showed {K-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} but Schoenberg was freerolling the royal flush draw with {K-Hearts} {Q-Hearts}. The {3-Diamonds} was a blank but the {4-Hearts} river made Schoenberg's flush to double her up to around 75,000.

Downhill for Benny

Francesco Venturi opened for 3,000 with just 18,000 behind, only to give it up when Benny Spindler shoved and Dmitry Stelmak called. Venturi banged the table as the board was dealt and later revealed that he'd folded {A-?} {Q-?}.

Spindler: {A-Clubs} {6-Clubs}
Stelmak: {3-Spades} {3-Hearts}

Board: {K-Clubs} {10-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {4-Hearts} {7-Diamonds}

A handshake later and the emo kid was gone.

Sadness for Tristan

We just arrived to see all the cards laid out on the table, but we would guess that the chips went in preflop.

Tristan Clemencon: all in with {A-?} {K-?}
Javier Dominguez Gomez: {A-?} {7-?}

Board: {8-?} {3-?} {9-?} {2-?} {7-?}

Ouch. Clemencon made a small and very French sound in disgust and took his leave, leaving behind a signed copy of Barry Greenstein's Ace on the River, presumably won yesterday.

Falling Brits

Toby Lewis has been knocked out, as has Thomas Middleton, the latter losing most of his chips firing three streets of a {2-?} {2-?} {J-?} {K-?} {A-?} board and still got called down by a winning pair of {10-?} {10-?}.

Ketul Boils Dry

Three players had got as far as the turn of the {7-Hearts} {6-Hearts} {J-Spades} {3-Hearts} board when we caught up with the action. Jani Heikki Mikkola checked and Ketul Nathwani pushed his last 18,600 across the line. Grigore Dan Adamescu reshoved, Mikkola got out of the way, and they were on their backs.

Nathwani: {A-Clubs} {J-Hearts} for top pair
Adamescu: {A-Hearts} {10-Hearts} for a flush

River: a completely irrelevant {3-Clubs}

Nathwani nodded like a man who's seen it all before and headed out into the San Remo sunshine.

It's Good to Be Mercier

Jason Mercier raised to 2,400 in early position and got two callers behind in the form of Fokke Beukers and Dieter Albrecht. Interesting.

However, the hand ended very shortly after as Mercier bet out on the {7-Clubs} {J-Spades} {2-Clubs} and both players quietly passed.

Mercier, sole survivor of the yesterday's Team PokerStars Express Bus Party latecomers, is up to 110,000.
