Ex-Lex

No longer in the Huis
No longer in the Huis
Just moments after losing half his stack when his pocket aces were outdrawn by {A-?} {Q-?}, Lex Feldhuis was virtually felted.

Veldhuis: {A-Clubs} {J-Hearts}
Bertrand Husiaux: all in with {A-Hearts} {A-Diamonds}

Board: {2-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} {10-Clubs} {J-Clubs}

Husiaux doubled to 270,000, while Veldhuis was left with just 15,000.

He doubled up the very next hand when his {7-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} held up against {K-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds}, but a few moments later he smacked pocket fours into Samuel Miller's pocket queens and finally kicked the tournament bucket.

Cor-Lucky

Josip Corluka raised both fists in the air and pronounced, "Yes," as he doubled through Johannes Steindl.

Corluka: {A-Spades} {K-Hearts}
Steindl: {A-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs}

Board: {8-Hearts} {3-Hearts} {10-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} {8-Spades}

Achilles Hila

Dan Ionut Hila is the latest casualty of the war on the felt going on downstairs, his pocket nines failing to hold against Lukas Sasky's {A-?} {K-?}.

Board: {2-?} {7-?} {A-?} {K-?} {10-?}

Lykey Lykey

Yup, they're really real
Yup, they're really real
Ladies and gents, we have a new chip leader!

Maxim Lykov, who's already taken down one EPT this season way back at Kyiv, is our new monster chip leader on 1.4 million.

Toth Takes a Small Tumble

We arrived at the table to see Luca Cainelli all in for 144,500 on a {7-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{10-Hearts} flop with roughly 60,000 in the pot. Richard Toth was his opponent and went into the tank for about five minutes.

He opted to make the call and tabled {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}, drawing against Cainelli's {A-Spades}{J-Spades}. The {2-Diamonds} turn card and {3-Spades} river card were no help to Toth, down to about 910,000.

Luca Cainelli doubles to about 350,000.

Alibert Eliminated in Monster Three-Way

What looked like a three-way preflop all in bonanza resulted in the elimination of Adrien Alibert. Bernhard Perner took the main pot to put him at 190,000; Florian Döhnert took the side pot to put him up to 350,000.

Alibert: {A-?} {J-?}
Perner: {9-Spades} {9-Hearts}
Döhnert: {A-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds}

Board: a completely blank {5-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} {K-Spades} {8-Clubs} {2-Hearts}

Brecard Broken

The (Bre)cards didn't go Julien's way
The (Bre)cards didn't go Julien's way
Russell Carson made it 18,000 and Julien Brecard clearly dind't think he actually had a hand as he shipped for 142,000 from the big blind with what we shall politely call a less than premium holding. Call.

Brecard: {J-?} {3-?}
Carson: {8-Diamonds} {8-Spades}

Board: {9-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} {9-Spades} {10-Diamonds}

Brecard made a straight but Carson made a flush, and Brecard busted out.

Double Burger for Gaines

Just moments later, Marcel Burger lost most of his chips back to Lee Gaines after he raised from the button and then called Gaines' small blind shove.

Burger: {A-Clubs} {K-Clubs}
Gaines: {6-Clubs} {6-Diamonds}

Board: {J-Hearts} {6-Spades} {7-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} {7-Spades}

"Nice hand," admitted Burger. "Thanks," replied Gaines. Then, with a wry chuckle, Burger added, "You did the same thing I did."
