A Lores Unto Himself

The exits continue to come thick and fast, and although we don't want to jinx things, it feels as though we're due a slowdown.

Jinxing aside, though, the latest casualty is Federico Cipollini of Italy. He went all in with {a-}{q-} on a {2-}{8-}{a-} flop, but Jorge Lores was holding {2-}{2-} for a set and made the call. Cipollini experienced no miracles on the {4-} turn and {9-} river, and he was gone.

And just a couple hands later, a short raising war between Drasutis Tauras Narmontas and our friend Jorge Lores culminated in a preflop showdown, Narmontas revealing {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and Lores turning over {a-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}. The first card out of the deck was an ace, and Lores was up to around a million, roughly doubling his stack in two hands.
