Double-Uppers

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Claus Nielsen is up to 58,300, one of the early leaders as the first break approaches. His table's seat 1 is empty - that should be the place of Carlos Batista Rodrigues. His absence explains the stack of Nielsen.

Two tables away Rene Scheptel has doubled to just under 50,000. The field has lost just one table in the first two levels.

So Good They Named Him Twice

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Morten Mortensen check-raised a 1,500 to 3,800 on a {5-Spades} {6-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} flop against Tadas Grigaitis and was called before the Dane checked the {8-Clubs} turn. Grigaitis fired 7,500 and Mortensen this time elected to call to see the {3-Spades} river.

Again the Dane checked and Grigaitis moved all-in, Mortensen was slightly flummoxed but called nonetheless and Grigaitis showed {K-Hearts} {K-Clubs} having turned his hand into a bluff and Mortensen flipped {5-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} to scoop the pot.

Fives Alive

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Hamed Hosseini-Rozbahani found a fairly big river call with a fairly little pair just now which increased his stack by almost 50%. He was check-raised on the turn of a {9-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{7-Spades} board, and made the call of the c.5,000 to swell the total pot to 14,000.

The river was the {3-Hearts} and Hosseini-Rozbahani faced a bet out of 4,000. He thought for a good while and finally threw in the call, showing {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. In return he received a respectful table-tap from his opponent with {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and the chunky pot.

Lasse Go Home

Anton Wigg

Anton Wigg has managed to eliminate Lasse Danielsen after setting the Dane all-in on the river of a {8-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} {4-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} board. Danielsen made the call for his tournament life only to muck when he got shown {8-Clubs} {7-Clubs} by last year's winner.

Wigg is up to 42,000.

Oscar Kroon's Swan Song

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Preflop shenanigans turned into a river exit as Oscar Kroon in the big blind found his three-bet raised yet again by Tadas Grigaitis. He made the call after inspecting his opponent's stack, and saw a {2-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{9-Hearts} flop. Kroon bet out 4,600 leaving himself 10,700 behind, and this was quickly called by Grigaitis. The turn brought the {3-Spades}. Grigaitis called Kroon's swift shove with the huge {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} which had outflopped the big blind's {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}.
